Mid-America Truck Show 2017

www.smart-truc...
A peak at a few of the many, many highlights at this year's Mid-America Truck Show, held in Louisville, Kentucky.
The video features some of the awesome trucks we saw and some of the cool vendor exhibits.
There were sooooo many trucks this year, this video would have been excessively long, so we've created another video, which will just features the trucks.
Enjoy.

I miss the driving part, the "seeing new places" part, but not the b.s. which seems to grow worse every year lately. Dave

I really feel bad for the drivers just starting out. Granted, they have the best equipment to date as far as ride comfort and ease of use. But the newer rules and regs, along with E-Logs, has to knock the wind out of their sails... I hope and pray that the pay goes up for them because it truly isn't fair to them what's happening. Once again, it's the companies and DOT that make out, not the driver. The companies will use this to charge more to haul the freight, but it will NEVER get passed to the driver, and that's just wrong in my book...

Awesome trucks. The ones with the huge extended sleepers, they must have a dedicated run where they know they can fit into the unloading docks. I would imagine they are sort of limited as to where they can go. We all know how tight shipping/receiving docks can be

Yup! A lot of them just do trade shows from arena to arena, or when they deliver specialty cars they'll just offload on a street or in a mall parking lot. Dave

I am getting into the industry this year. I had the chance to go there for all 3 days. Great introduction into the equipment and most importantly, the people. It would have been nice to see you there and have a chance to talk. The best part was the non-Ontario weather! or was it the '49 Pete?

The sheet metal work on that KW's bunk at 6:55! Not exactly my thing, but impressive nonetheless! I don't think I've seen something like that before. Apparently, their company, Jade Transport, from Winnipeg, MB, Canada, has many show trucks on their fleet.

Dave, what’s your opinion of a Lonestar Harley Davidson truck? Wife and I are about to hit the open road together. Looking for the most comfortable, reliable and nice looking truck out there. MPG is important too. I’ve been considering W900, Volvo 860 and Mack Anthem as well. The 389 is my first choice but I’m guessing not practical for two people comfort wise. Been a subscriber for three years now I believe. Always love watching your videos.

1:50 The "Retro-Pete", is it a factory option or was she customised by a dealer? I can't read the description in front. If she were fitted with a Cummins "Iron Lung", that would be the crowning touch. Thanks a million for this view!

I pull a dry can but if I ran flatbed I would run a covered wagon! It seems like it would be easier than tarping unless I'm wrong. If it is easier I wonder why more drivers don't do it
