My experience exactly! As a big Chris Reeve guy, I never got into Microtech because autos were illegal in Pa. Thank God Doug Ritter and KnifeRights finally got the laws in PA changed!!! I bought a bunch of Microtechs and boy was I missing out! Great video!!!

@@these7seas For me, the Ultratech Tanto because it has a smaller profile than a Buck 110 Sport, Paramilitary 2 and my Large Inkosi while having more cutting length than the PM2, same as the 110 and a tiny bit less than the Inkosi. Also, I can’t believe how sharp these Ultratech’s come - I am pretty good at sharpening but may send mine in when it comes time because I can’t magi e getting a better edge than the factory. It slices through the thinnest paper without so much as even the slightest sound and they are hair popping. Very impressed.

@@DavidV4444you should check out the one full serrated and the one smooth dagger version. Best actual tool! Can cut through most webbed material with the serrated

I enjoy watching reviews where the reviewer notices and enjoys all the fine details of a knife design and execution, the appreciation really comes across. Great job brother.

how do you like you knife so far?

Love my Stepside D/E Sig. Edition. All blacked out like yours. These are the pinnacle of futuristic blade technology and belong in a neon dystopian city film.

Me too, I never gave a OTF any thoughts. Just out the side autos. But when the ""one handed" use became so EZ to use. No having to use two hands to close, like on a out the side auto. It turns out to be a quality EDC, thats so sharp. Mine is a single edge.

Could not be happier with the Ultratech I bought. It goes everywhere with me.

Just bought my first microtech and got the ultratech. Stoked. Did a custom order and the time is gonna kill me!

I have two ultratechs. Love them to death. But I carry the single edge one the most. The double edge dagger is a pain to sharpen.

Sick blade and it kicks for its size. Lots of power in form.

Glad to see that you got the ball bearing glass breaker rather than the spike. Not super comfortable resting my hand on the sharp a** spike. I should send them back but I am cheap af.

Great knife

If you take a drill that has a drill chuck on it, take that chuck and put it on the glass breaker and you can unscrew it very easily and then just shoot remoil or WD-40 in the knife and open and close it several times and it will clean anything out

I forget, just try it out. I haven't carried autos in years. I think it's a 7mm or 8mm socket that fits perfect.

Such a great knife, I so wish I can own one but living in the UK 🇬🇧 😢

I mean everybody should buy what they want but let's understand that a double edge dagger style blade is for combat, not necessarily for edc. Sure you could use it to cut up boxes but you would be way better served with a drop point or even a Tonto

I just ordered one with a double edge/ dagger style blade. I think they’re more for self defense but can cut if needed. I have a single edge Ultratech and it cuts great. I don’t want to use my Ultratech HellHound but it’s razor sharp and would cut great also.

WD40 Specialist Dry lube for slides is what will keep it lubed with no greasy residue. Stay away from oil lube as oil attracts dirt and dust which will cause misfires.

I like the looks of the dirac but im not for sure if I would think it might be to small i think I might end up getting the ultra Tech but if I could find a dirac Delta write now I would forsure take My chances with that one i Handled the combat troodon thats the only one that will be next buy lol thanks

I wonder how the black blade finish will hold up with daily use. I’m torn between the black finish and the apocalyptic finish.

The black finish holds up fairly well. You’ll see some scuff but that can’t be avoided. Apocalypse finish will probably hide wear better

I hawe both Microtech Ultratech Momento More and in EU I pay it 450€ that was 3 ares ago , and it is stupid expensive, and its ok for fidgeting ,but its not near the edc like my 940Benchmeade I wudent sold him I like him but I like him razor sharp too bee with my safe equipment for house and I don't like that I can't service it myself. And I'm from EU so it's feu months for stupid shipping. Like 940 here and dere, Omega fails, but Benchmade sends mee feu spring, and im set for 5 to 10 ares minimum. And poste can bee stolen , not make in Microtech its beter too they giw mee feu spring and i wud make oll those thing for my self . I need only parts like Benchmade, you tell them, and they oblige, and i love Benchmade customer service. i didn't use Microtech, but i hope that i newer would send knife tro shuping wich is sketchy. But it's not for Edc, not for me.

I bought a 25th anniversary locally for 150 a month ago. Brand new never used. Well worth that but I agree. Upper 200s seem a little steep for it. Still an amazingly well crafted knife and glad to own one.

Any spyderco > Any OTF

My paramilitary 2 is my favorite knife I have in my possession currently. Won’t be when my ultratech arrives. No production knife will beat the quality, and attention to detail you get from a microtech. That is unless you get into customs. If otf’s aren’t your style check out some of their side openers. Microtech > spyderco all day everyday.

After having both, all I can say is different strokes for different folks. It just really depends on what you like bottom line. Both cut, both will get the job done, both have its strengths and weaknesses. Personally for me OTFs weren’t my thing but that’s not a knock on the OTF design at all, just a preference thing. You can’t go wrong with either. Microtech makes the best OTFs in the market today hands down, they are the yardstick to which all OTFs are judged by. Spyderco is a behemoth in the knife industry for their innovative designs, willingness to try different things, and bringing so much awesomeness to the knife community in general 👍

@@DJR3M1XX As a 25 plus year knife collector, I have owned almost every OTF produced by Microtech and a few of their side opening autos. The OTFs are fun, but the quality isn’t always what you expect, especially if you’ve owned or handled other OTFs.
