If you think of OTF’s, the Ultratech is amazing - a $39 to $40 increase is nothing if you were only getting the dual fuel system that makes deployment so smooth and easy. The upgraded titanium and silicone carbide pocket clip is worth another $40. The game changer here is zero blade play that really is only available on knives like the $1,500+ deadlock… to get all of this for $40 has never been done in my opinion in the knife industry, Microtech is absolutely crushing it.

I have a couple ultratechs I paid more than 350 for. Granted they were SMKW exclusives, they were still quite pricey. I was down in Tennessee last Thanksgiving on a bucket list trip which I dropped a good chunk of change at SMKW. Well a good chunk for my working stiff butt. I love auto's and otf's are my weakness. And I agree with you on paying thousands for zero blade play. I've seen it but just can't afford it. Hopefully Microtech can change that for me and many others!

Wait six months and Vespa will make such a knife with the same system only 5-6 times cheaper than the original. Remember my comment, you can buy a Vespa knife for no more than $150.

Microtech is killing it right now. They really don't have any competition after these new drops.

Yeah, they really don’t at this point, so much value has been added across the lines, dual fuel, titanium clips and zero blade play are total game changers for the tiny price difference / this hasn’t been done by any manufacturer that I am aware of in the 25 years I have been buying premium knives. Unbelievable

Chinese Vespa is a real game changer) They will make the same knife 5-6 times cheaper than the original Microtek in a maximum of six months. The way Vespa made Combat Troodon gen.3 is simply amazing! They surpassed Microtek both in price and in the accuracy of knife manufacturing

Ill b damned lol i just bought a hera 2 on wed and now they are coming out.with all thiz new stuff damn u microtech lol because u will be getting more of my money. The dead lock might b in trouble (prob not but...)

Hoping the new ultratech is around 350ish, considering that a basic ut is about 310.

especially at a show ...i would have a S/E to test the new function and pull on blade 🙄

Does anyone know if the new utx-85s have all the new features added to the ultratech? Crud cutters, reversible pocket clip, duel fuel drivetrain and zero stop for blade play?

Microtech told me the UTX-70 has been discontinued and I believe the 85s have been too. The Hera Mini is what replaces them.

An ultratech is about $300, this would make a base ultratech about $350 - titanium clip and the new dual fuel is worth more than $40, I have several of the dual fuel models and they are unbelievable - to get zero blade play you have to pay $2,000 for zero blade play - this is a game changer.
