Sorry, I don't have access to a Mac, but please share if you do find the answer for others that may pop in.
How is this done in Mac? There is no little paragraph boxy thingy to pull down.

I regret the delay. I stepped away from the channel for quite some time; unfortunately, I have never used the mac version, so I am not sure how that would work. However, you should be able to remove it from the navigation pane if you apply any style to it that is not a heading, for example, the "Normal" style.
Office 365 is very similar to Office 2016 and 2019, the video will show where a feature is located differently in the standard MS Word application, just in case you think this may not answer your question because it's Office 365.
I tried this method but it didn't work. it keeps reading the body text with the level. I refreshed several times, but the problem still exists. Can you plz help

Highlight the paragraph and hit control Spacebar, it should convert the body text to entirely body text. Without seeing it, I'm assuming that part of the paragraph is still marked as a heading of some sort. Just make sure you highlight the entire paragraph and then make these changes, or go back to the style manager and make sure that it's set to body text. Just for further clarification, it's possible that part of the paragraphs is formatted differently.
