Microsoft Loop app with Copilot | First Look & Full Tutorial

Ғылым және технология

In this show, Derek Liddell, an engineering leader from the Loop team at Microsoft presents the end-to-end experiences with the new Microsoft Loop app, available both on the web and in mobile.
The Loop app is a transformative co-creation experience that brings together teams, content, and tasks across your tools and devices. It gives you a central place to bring people together to create real-time content in a simple, collaborative and structured way, from using intelligent search to build your first shared workspaces, where you can enjoy super-fast synchronized collaboration to leveraging AI with Copilot in Loop, to generate ideas with others on your team to get in your flow. Copilot capabilities in Loop will begin rolling out in the next few months.
If you're using Loop components today, you might familiar with how you can embed live, auto-updating content seamlessly across apps like Microsoft Teams, Outlook email, Word and even the Whiteboard - all from the same source, freeing you up to work in your preferred collaboration modality. The Loop app builds on this and gives you a new hub to create and find all of your shared Loop components, workspaces, and pages.

I absolutely LOVE IT! I’ve been waiting for this for ages and it payed off. My team and I are already working on loop and it’s really nice! The thing is, if I can suggest something. I love having the ability of sharing and working with other in such a seamlessly way, but I do miss a “notion like” personal workspace so I can use only Loop! Cause now I have to go back and forth on notion and loop and ultimately it’s easier to stay on a platform that have everything. You guys are doing an amazing job. I’ve been using Microsoft apps for a while now - and converting people to it to - and what you’ve been offering these past few months is wild! Congrats!

Hi Microsoft, great that we are making progress on this, but just one comment about Loop so far, if we have invested in a Wide screen, we would like to see the content fill that screen width, what is the idea behind this 480p centered with a scroll bar thing? I very much appreciate we could be co-authoring on a mobile (rare, but not impossible) but the vast majority will be on laptop / desktop with an attached screen - can we use the screen real estate we have available, please?

Is this finally an app I can use as a Wiki platform? I am still confused. In Teams, you stop supporting the Wiki pages and replace it with OneNote. OneNote is terrible for Wiki. No structure. Ugly. The Wiki pages in SharePoint look antiquated. So the closest thing to a proper (Confluence-like) Wiki would be SharePoint pages, but it is hard to organize/link the content. Or Loop? What are your takes?

@@BryanEnsign Hey Bryan - I might be because I also use my Yahoo email for my company's Visual Studio subscription? It would be a shame if MS is only allowing subscribers to their wares a chance to play w/the preview?? I also have my XBox using my email account as well. The FIRST disappointment for me is there isn't ANY database / table functionality similar to Coda and Notion. Just simple table cells functionality. While okay for simple collaboration, you won't be creating nicely powerful web applications with the current state Loop is in. However, I still applaud MS for entering the arena of these "Productivity" apps - their main advantage so far, is their Component functionality, and embedding Loop into Emails and Teams!

Seems to be something very basic missing. I Created a meeting agenda and minutes from the template. Now all I want to do is copy that page to use as a template for this week's meeting. Appears to be no way to copy and paste a loop page? Also, the tables suck. The headers in tables in the pages do not have wrapping so long headers get truncated. And if you try to widen them out the table gets super long if you have more than say 9 columns. These things are very basic in Confluence.
