I bought Das Leben im Wassertropfen after seeing it on your list. Its great!

I was going to ask for a book recommendation as well. I’m also new to microscopes and many times I don’t know what I’m looking at. I will try these books too thank you so much.

The book I'm currently using is Guide to Microlife by Kenneth Rainis & Bruce Russell. Very well done.

I would recommend , The Hidden Beauty of the Microscopic World by James weiss

Another recommended book for those who want to delve very, very deeply into the subject of microbiology in general: "Brock Mikrobiologie" afaik it is available in several languages, the price for the German version is around 50 EUR antiquarian Very informative > 1500 pages but also really very challenging.

Das Leben im Wassertropfen is indeed a great book, even with my very rusty German skills. Too bad there is no English translation and I really couldn't find something similar.

Thank you for your all great videos. I am trying to make a whole slide imaging software that works on mobile phones. There is a big problem which is called depth of field in higher magnifications and it can somehow be overcome by having 20x20 magnification instead of 40x10 at the expense of losing some details. I myself don't have access to different lenses. I would appreciate it if you could make a video and show what are their differences in real practice using a mobile camera.

I've just bought myself a Tomlov DM 602 , 24mp microscope, and was looking for books to start, so your video was very helpful. I couldn't afford the new version of Heinz Weiss's book, but managed to grab a 1988 edition from a second hand bookstore for £6 which I'm hoping should be enough to get me started off, I also bought the other book you showed. Is there anything else you would advise me to get? I'm guessing slides and covers is one? anything else? I'm looking forward to starting this journey of discovery as I've always been fascinated by the world unseen.

Hi microbe hunter, I have a question. I use an introductory microscope which can achieve maximum magnification of 320x, If i use a 30x eyepiece with my 20x objective (which is the highest objective I have) the total magnification will be 600x and if I use 25x eyepiece with my 20x objective the total magnification will be 500x. My microscope is telmu XD-1606 inverse microscope, can you please tell me which eyepiece would be compatible with my 20x objective. I need atleast 400x magnification, Thanks in advance btw love your videos

as microbehunte already said i would really recommend "Das Leben im Wassertropfen". unfortunately there iss only a german version available as far as i know.

This is more about why we have microscopes, but I really like "I Contain Multitudes" by Ed Yong.
