Amazing! So many memories. When I became good at this videogame the obvious choice was to pick Oman to win the World Cup. And damn, Brazil was so hard to be defeated

Only few people know that you can make a curveballs here. I remember scoring few against Brazil from almost 40m. I had real love&hate relationship with this game. And this game owes me few joysticks still ;)

Oh my god! Loved that game in my youth. One of the best soccer games ever.

me too. had the C64 in the late 80s with this game...played it so much eventually the tape in the cassette snapped !

It was best C64 soccer. And those replays with rewind, changing weather and great music : )

My favourite game as a child. Loved it

I had this game in the USA, but it was known as Keith Van Eron's Pro Soccer. Van Eron was the long time goalie for the Baltimore Blast indoor soccer team, and the owner of MicroProse later was the owner of the Blast (named Spirit) at the time. Also the game in the US had an indoor mode, with the teams being cities in the USA.

Hilarious when it started raining and the law of inertia was suspended, causing a sliding tackle to become an infinite slide off the pitch and into doom.

In fatto di giocabilità, il più bel gioco di calcio mai creato. Una volta che imparavi a controllare a dovere il "banana effect" mandavi la palla esattamente dove volevi tu e potevi vincere il mondiale usando la squadra più debole (l'Oman, se ricordo bene). Da notare che ai tempi il vincitore di una partita prendeva solo due punti, non tre (regola introdotta nel 1991, se ricordo bene).

So much luck with the Teams. Mexico, Denmark and Hungary. But RESPECT for the game against Brazil !! I´m a fan of this game till today. I play this on emulator sometimes.

I loved this game too. I could (and still can) beat every team.

Some nice skills there! The third goal against Scotland was a beauty. After watching this, I thought to myself: Now I have to try out Oman as well. Guess what?! I came up against Brazil in the final and beaten them 3:1. ;) I think the International Challenge is harder to win, than the WC. I've managed to beat Brazil there, only once. Although it was 6:3 in the end after a 4:0 first half. Amazing game. Incredible to think, that it was almost 30 years ago, I've first played this.

It seems like yesterday... really legendary game! One of my favourite PC game ever. When the wins were worth two points, when there was USSR and West Germany, when the goalkeeper could block the back pass by hands.

Of some odd reason I always thought I played SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER on commodore 64 as a kid. But every time I've seen youtube videos it looks not very familiar. I know why now :D Its F***ing MicroPose Soccer !! And I found out in a 7 year old video !! I remember you could make these insane looong sliding tackles in thunder weather

there was a lot of crowd trouble at the Oman v Holland match but the broadcaster didn't show it as per usual

I have seen that people arrange World cup in Kick off 2 and Sensible world of soccer on the amiga yearly. How is it for this game any world cup with die hard fans that travel the world? (I missed the world cup in kick off 2 with 2 weeks a couple of years ago it was in Ireland. Had I seen it before I booked I would have gone weeks later to see how good my skills were even if I have not played for 15 years)

Yes, you can activate in-game music on control panel menù.

I used to like the idea as it starts raining as your in the middle of a game,A very good game!! but the best game for C64 of soccer was Emlyn Hughes International Soccer.

The player I would not say, You have the best strategy and capability ever!. Because: First, You have to choose something capable team for yourself! Like Brasil or Argentina, Not Oman! Oman is the weakest one! With This you could eleminated some hard opponent team and boost your team as well. Second, I didnt see the efficient score tatic. The goalceeper could not do anything If you shoot from 2-3 cm inner side of the 16m corner. I have not really seen this in your game! I was championship many times with Hungary! I can tell more about the curled oval straight shoot as well, and how do you need to play in rain. Its more like straight shoot is more efficient in rain. I have spent all my teeanaged with this and ELITE :)
