Ever since I started collecting comics, Micronauts and ROM were like urban legends. Can't wait to finally get my hands on this book. My first comic ever was actually a tpb, called The Saga of the Alien Costume and its still on my shelf today.
I was there at the beginning. I had Micronauts #1 when it came out. I had started collecting comics a year earlier with Star Wars and was fascinated with the art in the Micronauts ads. I still have most of my original copies, including the mail order only volume.
My first comic book was when I was 4 (in 1963), and it was actually i grocery sack of coverless comic books that my dad got from his work. He worked for a magazine distributor and they tore the covers off the magazines and mailed them back to publishers for return credit after 3 or 4 months. Every 6 months or so, I would get these from my dad. It's how I learned how to read. It was usually a mixture of Archie, Gold Key, Disney, and DC comics with rare Spideys, Fantastic Four, or Hulk. I was 20 when the Micronauts came out. I bought the first issue and never stopped until they were done. I can't wait to see them in Omnibus form!
Awesome! I can not wait for this. My fist Mirconauts comic was issue 15. I loved that cover, it had the Fantastic Four in it. I believe that was 1980 or 81. I was 6 years old. Great times. Thanks for sharing.
Can’t wait for this. So happy we are getting this. I’ll be getting the standard cover. My first comic was bizarrely the uk punisher comic which had punisher and the nam reprints. I don’t think my mother was aware of the content😂

I never read these comics..but def getting it! I got the ROM omnibus and love these older comics all cleaned up
Mantlo and Golden built a wonderful world. My first Micronauts comic were the special Edition reprints. Love Bug and Acroyear, thanks for the contest!!!
I just got the Rom omnibus and was waiting for this to come out! I never read the comics but had the japanese toys as a kid. Whats great as a first time reader is that the art and pages are all clean bright looking! No way i can get into old faded comic printing.
Thanks for this overview Omar, I knew nothing about this series and was waiting on your review. That Ditko cover is my favorite, has a beautiful vibe to it.
Love your overview. I bought Micronauts #1 and was hooked till the series ended. My very first comic was Avengers #4 which reintroduced Captain America.
Thanks Omar - my first exposure to Marvel's Micronauts was when it was reprinted as a backup story in the UK Marvel Star Wars weekly comic (No. 51, January 1979). I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the story and subsequntly sought out (and still have) my original issues #s 1 - 12. I had to seek out issues 1-4 as back issues (issue #5 being my first colour US/new Micronauts). The title was non-distributed here in the UK, so I had to get the train from North Wales to Manchester to buy them as 'imports' from specialist comic stores.Great memories, and a reminder just how old I am! Hoping these make it into 'EPIC' collections before too long, also. :-)
This is the grail for which I've been waiting since I started collecting collected editions! The first 12 issues are the greatest comics Marvel ever produced!
My first Micronauts comic was issue #2. I remember being captivated by the characters and Michael Golden’s art. The series was very hard to find here in Australia so I had to send away to the US to buy back issues until it was easier to get new releases around (I think) issue #11. It was a title I used to count the days until each new issue. The first year of the title is a near perfect combination of art and writing and I think still holds up today. Just wish the boards on this omni featured more of Michael’s art. For anyone who hasn’t read this series you’re in for a treat! Thanks Omar!
Waited a long time for this collection, absolutely love the Michael Golden issues! The whole collection is great.
I'm old(er) so I was with Micronauts from the beginning along with ROM. I'm so glad these are being collected! Thanks Omar!
My first issues of Micronauts were #2, 3, & 4, which were polybagged, and I believe I got them for my birthday. They didn't hit my local newsstand until issue #4 so I'd missed out on issue #1 until like a decade later. SO GRATEFUL that these are being reprinted so I can "revisit old friends".😍
The first issue of Micronauts I ever read was issue #1. But honestly, it was at the insistence of my friend, Chris, who is no longer with us, after he wouldn't stop talking about it. So I picked up the first issue and I was glad I did, as I was immediately hooked and became a fan of Michael Golden's art. From that point on, I picked up everything he did that I could get my hands on, X-Men, The Defenders, The Name, Bucky O'Hare, Marvel Fanfare - you get the idea. And it all started with Micronauts. The reason that series will always have a special place in my heart.
It's great this and ROM sell well; now those profits can go towards books others are interested in.
Acroyear is also my favorite character. I loved Micronauts back in the late 70's early 80's and I want to say my first MICRONAUTS comic was issue #19 "Bugs Army" i think, it was so long ago. Great video as always...
Oh man... I hope a Micronauts fan gets this. I have never heard of this or Rom until recently. I just barely missed it age wise. Im hoping to become a fan though, and im going to be picking up all these regardless. Thank you Omar for explaining what this was. You are the go to in everything comic's my friend. Don't know exactly what my first comic was. It was a random Green lantern comic I believe, at around 5. My first issue when I got into comics was Knightdall 499.
First Micronauts comic was actually #2 with the lawnmower cover. Never saw anything like it! We were hooked instantly. And this was long before we had LCS around town so every weekend we were hitting the flea market comic sellers to find that issue #1. Amazing comics! Epic!
24:49 the picture on the right would make a beautiful dust jacket cover
Thanks for this video Omar! My first comic was Batman No Man's Land, the trade paperbacks from 2000. I remember hunting down all five volumes in book stores here in Europe!
Can't wait for this, art looks really great and story sounds very interesting. My first comic book was technically three! It was a Panini UK Spider-Man collection, containing issues 32 and 33 of JMS' Spider-Man run, with Spider-Man's first fight against Morlun, and The Amazing Spider-Man issue 6 by Lee and Ditko, containing the first appearance of the Lizard.
I actually have 7 issues of Micronauts that I got from eBay back around 2016, 2017. They were won as an "Add-on" auction for some other items I was buying through the same seller. I believe 2 were from the last dozen issues from the original series and 5 were from the New Voyages run.
My first (and only) Micronauts was the four issue “X-Men and the Micronauts” series that came out in 1984. I had been into comics since at least Superman #301 in 1976 when I was five, but discovered X-Men fairly late with my first issue being Paul Smith’s first issue as artist. Never branched out into the Micronauts regular series.
My first comic was Spider-Man #113 in 1972. At the age of 7, it introduced me to a cast of characters (Doctor Octopus the villain in that issue) that have stayed with me my whole life. Reading that era now as an adult, I realise how my school essays reflected the language used in Marvel: Marvel writers expanded my vocabulary and taught me how to tell a story. What a gift to give a child. Having fallen a little in love with Gwen Stacey in those pages, on her murder I felt she had been taken away from me as well as from Peter, and I learned the power of story-telling, a lesson that has stayed with me my whole life.
My first Micronauts comic, was actually in Star Wars Weekly which began reprinting the series in the Seventies from issue 1 as the back up feature. I was blown away by the beautiful Golden art and intrigued by the characters, especially Baron Karza
I'm in my mid 20s so my introduction to comics was during the New 52 era. I grew up watching Smallville, so that Morrison run on Action Comics was my jam. I used to go every two weeks to pick up single issues during that span. Now I'm delving into the oldies through omnibus format. Kirby's Fourth World has been my favorite so far. Might throw Micronauts on my growing list!
My first Micronauts comic was issue #2, I had the toys when they came out and was hooked ever since. Have loved the Micronauts my whole life. Thanks for the contest!
Thank you Omar for always being so kind and generous. I personally hadn't even heard of Micronauts until this video but it certainly seems interesting. It's always quite fun to see how the translate toy lines into comics (transformers comics are honestly better than a lot of the series). So instead, the first comic I read was Batman Hush. I always loved watching the Batman movies as a kid so my Dad bought me the Hush trade when I was about 9 or 10 and I was blown away by how amazing the art and storytelling was. Thanks to that I've always been most passionate about Batman and DC, although recently I've started to branch out more with some more Marvel comics, other DC characters and manga too. Would love to try out Micronauts if I win but equally good luck to everyone else. Thanks again Omar!!
My first Micronauts comic was issue #1, bought as a back issue in the late 80's.
Awesome stuff as usual. Nothing like getting some new omnibus in. I want to say my first comic was a Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge adventure. Then a ton of Batman ones.
Thanks for sharing this Omar, I’ll never forget my first exposure to the Micronauts, via the Man-Thing! One of my favorite covers of all time in #7 and my first book!
Thanks for the overview Omar - this looks fantastic! Growing up in the UK, my first Micronauts comic was Star Wars Weekly 51 with a reprint of the first issue with Michael Golden's art in beautiful black and white. I missed out on the Artist's Edition so was very happy to see the original art reprinted in the back of this omnibus. Cheers!
I’ve been waiting to reread these issues for decades! Looking forward to this!
My best friend in 6th grade shared his Micronauts #1 with me in homeroom, and my brain cracked open. I rushed out bought the SECOND issue, subscribed, and read every issue after that, as they came out.... it was 10 years later when I finally bought issue #1... for the lofty price of $10. I no longer have my original issues and have been SO looking forward to this book! Love that Cockrum cover!
My first comic was Top Dog. He still holds a special place in my heart.

Top Dog / Strawberry Shortcake Omni is scheduled for release June 2032. Get your preorder in now!
I don’t remember my first Micronauts comic, but the first four comic books that got me into the hobby were Micronauts, Rom, Ghost Rider and Moon Knight. Loved them! So happy to see Micronauts and Rom in print now (for however long that lasts). Nice work and thanks, Omar!
Oh wow. This brings back so many memories. I don’t know which issues I read back then as it was the French edition and any volume would carry 3 issues or more. But I do remember that awesome cover with the 2 fighting in their centaur form. I believe this was my introduction to Michael Golden’s art.
Excited for this! My first Micronauts comic was X-Men and the Micronauts #1! Thanks for everything you do Omar!
So excited I had to rewatch this a couple of times! My first Micronauts was issue 1 when it first came out. My brother and I used to have every issue except for the annuals. I’m looking forward to all three omni volumes coming out!
I read a lot of Micronauts in the UK via black and white reprints in comics like Future Tense. The one story that stays in my mind involved a young boy who either loved bugs or hated them can't remember which - looking forward to rediscovering the series. Micronauts stood out from the crowd with some pretty serious storylines.
Very Informative video!! I like all the covers. Hard to pick which one to select. Always heard about Micronauts but never read a single issue. Will be getting all the volumes!! Appreciate your hard work Uncanny Omar!!!
Love that you helped get these reprinted. Cannot wait for volumes 2 and 3
The first time a read a Micronauts comic was in Star Wars Weekly here in the UK. Issue 51, I think. I thought it was amazing!
I've never read any Micronauts but man, when you first opened that book up, I was sold immediately! Cool to me to learn that Ant-Man and Fury make appearances too. Idk what my first comic was (I remember getting a package of random Marvel, DC, and Image singles though), but my first collected edition was Marvel Masterworks: The Avengers Vol.1 (long before I discovered the magic of the Omnibus format!) Great video as always, thank you Omar!
My first Micronauts exposure was picking up issue #7 from a quarter bin to add to my Man-Thing collection. Once I read the book, I began to wonder why I'd never heard of these characters (this was around 2008, mind you). That was the same day I picked up my first Rom issue and learned all about a clump of neglected comics. It's so nice to see this sort of thing getting deluxe treatment..
My first Micronauts comic was #13. I still have it in one of my longboxes. I ended up picking up the first twelve issues many years later but that issue was my first foray into that universe. Love your channel!!
You know I was very curious about ROM and the Micronauts when you first announced it last year and now I am head over hills in love with the ROMNIBUS AND I preordered Volumes 2 and 3 and I can't wait to receive them when they come out and I am excited to See Micronauts and the artwork by Michael Golden and Howard Chakyin etc. it makes me very happy to collect theses omnis. I will receive my standard cover soon I can't wait to get it. Make my Marvel.🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️
My first comic was Wolverine #1 where he was under the codename Patch. It was a gift from my godbrother who loved 80's X-men.
My first Micronauts comic and introduction to the team actually wasn't even an official "Micronauts" comic. It was Marvel Universe The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes #7, a tie-in to a fantastic animated series. In the issue, the team is referred to as "The Microns," as that was LONG after the toy licensing deal had expired. I later encountered them in the Scarlet Spider/Agent Venom crossover "Minimum Carnage," where I believe they go by yet another different name. Gotta love legal workarounds. Plus, funnily enough, both that crossover AND the Avengers issue shared a writer: Christopher Yost. Must've been a fan of the original series.
First comic book was Spidey Super Stories #6….when I was 4.5 years old. Webbing in a Winter Wonderland. Yep. Alliteration. Thank you, Omar. For the videos and for your infectious love of comics.
Micronauts #1 was the first issue. Loved the Golden Year Looking forward to reading these stories again. Great review
Thanks for the video, Omar! It’s hard to say what my first comic book was, because I inherited my brother’s collection that was mostly X-Men. Thinking back, the first I pulled off the pile was Uncanny X-Men #208. Loved that bright pink Nimrod cover with our heroes facing off against the Hellfire Club! Cheers and happy reading!
My first Micronauts comic was #1! I discovered it at the local corner grocery store on a snowy day in 1979 - since I loved the toys, it was a *tik* dream come true. And then…. And then… then I see the artwork. It was unlike anything I’d ever seen before. I was entranced, astonished, and *tik* absolutely floored. I tucked it into my coat to protect it from the snow and brought it home. I had never seen linework, perspective and such strange details *tik* in a comic before; Golden had created an ENVIRONMENT that I could feel. To this day it was the most important comic and moment in my comic-loving life, and cemented Michael Golden as my all-time favourite artist ever. I got an original Baron Karza drawing from Michael Golden at a Con about 10 years ago and I cannot believe i actually *tik* have it on my wall. Love the channel, love your approach and love tuning in every week.
My first comic was Batman by Grant Morrisson Omnibus Vol1, and I brought that book because of you Omar, I’ve wanted to get into comics for years but didn’t know how, or where to start, and then one day I came across Near Mint Condition, and learned what collected editions was. My Comic journey of the past two years, and eight months has been the greatest journey of my life, thank you Omar.
I cannot WAIT! My first Micronauts comic was ISSUE 1, baby!
Great Content,Omar! I've never read any of this but am excited to check it out - especially the MG artwork. My first comic was X-Men 1.
Never or heard of Micronauts before your channel Omar. My first graphic novel was a present off my mom. The Dark Knight Returns trade paperback. About 18+ years later I still own it. Oh and one of my first singles was when Hulk fought Spider-Man and then proceeded to help him fix the train tracks. It was pre JMS era.
Hey, Omar! I have not read anything from Micronauts, but I am very interested in checking it out now! My first ever comic was Marc Spector: Moon Knight issue 7 that features Brother Voodoo and a fight against some zombies. I remember being blown away by the awesome art and I’ve been hooked ever since. Thank you for creating such an informal and friendly community for comic book fans to come together!
I've never read any Micronauts before. Superman was where I started with Superman #93

Oh yeah . First comic ever was 2000ad, prog 1
Great overview as usual. A friend let me borrow issue 1 of Micronauts to read but my first comic bought with my own money was a Superman issue in 1980.
I have missed the Micronauts for so many years it isn't funny. Can't wait for these puppies!!!
Very excited to check this out
Amazing overview. My first micronauts issue was the one with FF on the cover.
Looking forward to this! I have never read the comic but I remember the house ads and had some of the toys. My first comic was Marvel Tales #63: “Electro Unleashed!” It was the issue where I first learned that Spider-Man was Peter Parker!
Vintage Golden! Huge fan of Michael Golden - Micronauts is a blind spot for me. First comic I remember reading was Fantastic Four 88. I read the cover off of that thing.
My first comic was an early fantastic four smaller sized comic that my dad gave me when I was 6. I read it over and over and was so amazed with the world and all these years later I’m still in love with the medium
Thanks for the video. The first Micronauts that I read was issue #1. I've been waiting for the omnibus.
The Micronauts, Rom, and Spider-Man were my first comics. 53yrs old man here.
@shorsbigmouth

Haha!! Me too. Just turned 53...Spider-man, Hulk and ROM here.
Micronauts #1 was actually my first exposure to the team but didn’t see another issue till my subscription kicked in along with Shogun Warriors. Never read the full run so I’m excited to see these collected!
Great Video Omar. I got my first Micronauts comic from a flee market. It was a very well read issue of #9
Thanks for the overview Omar! Have not read any Micronauts comics since I've only started collecting during the pandemic. My first comic was The Sandman by Neil Gaiman deluxe edition book 1 (and I love it so much) and now I've collected a lot but only one shelf full of comics and still looking to collect more. Thanks for everything!
I've loved these stories since I was a little boy. My 1st Micronauts was in black and white in Star Wars Weekly issue 51 here in the UK. The same series that also introduced me to Starlin's Warlock and Claremont and Byrne's Starlord!
My first comic was the Simpsons Spectacular issue, and I’ve been hooked on comics ever since. I have to say I absolutely adore the artwork in Micronauts and thanks for introducing me to this series!
My First Micronaut comic was Micronauts: The New Voyages #6. I had No idea of how amazing the penciler, Kelly Jones would become! My First Micronaut experience was in 1978... I had these tiny robot men called Micronauts, they had these articulated joints and sometimes an ability to swap parts (like a head..) I also had a Micronauts playset with a pneumatic tube to race kit. My first comic was ASM #178 and my first Comic as a collector was either Star Wars #50 or Contest of Champions #1. All that being said, I've no problem buying my own Golden Micro-Omni... Just want to say: Thanks Omar for your channel!!! Between you and Cartoonist Kayfabe, I enjoyed a range of Fandom that had some genuine love. I wish you the wealth you deserve for the love you share.
My first Micronauts issue was issue 11. I then went and got the back issues. I stuck with it longer than any other comic (just over three years). I still remember it as the best comic I ever bought.
Great review, like always..... .Interesting to see that Michael Golden and Pat Broderick insert some kind of a Berni Wrightsson vibe into their drawings! Definitely gonna buy this one..I like the Cockrum cover the most. That's the one i am going to order...Keep up the good work Omar!
Great overview Omar! My first and only Micronauts comic is that IDW Artist Edition Micronauts by Michael Golden. That had been the only way to experience any of these stories without hunting back issues. In that glorious oversized format Golden' artwork is jaw dropping. Thanks Omar!
I really wish that I could remember my first comic book but it would've probably been either a Superman, Justice League or a Spider-Man comic from the 80s. Thanks for doing the GAW Omar and good luck everybody.
My first comic was X-Men annual 10. Arthur Adams goodness with a heavy influence of Golden too!
Excellent review of a 70’s/80’s classic. The comic certainly looks great in the omnibus format. Got Micronauts #1 when first came out, just became I loved Michael Golden’s art. Still got the first 12 issues in my PC 😎👍
Thanks for the video, Omar! My first Micronauts comic was X-Men vs the Micronauts #1. I was a bit too young for the ‘nauts in their initial run, but I’m looking forward to going back and finding out what I missed out on!
Of course I’m late again. I bought Micronauts #2 right off the rack at my local High’s Deli and Grocery! This is literally THE book I have been waiting for years for!!!!! Thank you for the awesome review as always!!!!
Thanks for the overview. I remember seeing some of the back issues for Micronauts in the 90's, but never interior art. Looks like Near Mint is hurting my wallet again!
Great video. I too am Michael Golden fan. My first Micronauts’ comic were the special editions that Marvel put out. So enjoyable.
My first Micronauts was the Ditko cover that graces the omnibus! I wasn't a Micronauts fan but I was a big fan of Ditko and at that time I was seeking out all the Ditko drawn comics I could find. It wasn't until the late 90's/early 2000's that I finally sat down and started to read the comics and really enjoyed them.
My first Micronaught comic was no.1!!, I’m in my 50’s now so I was collecting for around 8-10 years by then!, absolutely incredible art and characters is my main abiding memory of these books, so yes, I would love a chance to win one and thank you Omar for the chance! 👍
Ohh man I've been wanting this book forever haha so cool. I love that Ditko cover, so sick. I remember being a small kid in the comic shop hearing "old man" 20 Year Olds in the 90s talking about how great Micronauts was. And what a group of talented artwork in this. So cool. My first comic book was an old issue of Judge Dredd's Crime Files #2. What a gateway!
Hi Omar-My first micronauts is the one with the psycho man in & it ends with a human sized human torch in the microverse. This omni is a dream come true for us microphiles.Bring on vol.2👍👍👍
I started reading the Spider-Man comic strip in my hometown newspaper in 1977 (Stan Lee/John Romita Sr.)-- I was 9 years old. My local comic book store had Spider-Man visit in person in October 1977, so my mom took me to meet him and get my picture taken with him-- the comic book store owner was giving out one free comic book on that day -- Avengers 164 by John Byrne/Jim Shooter -- I fell in love with comics (and Scarlet Witch) that day. I did read a few Micronauts issues that my friend bought a couple of years later, but not the whole run-- looking forward to reading this one! Thank you Omar!
Big Time Memory Lane..My first issue was #1 and #2 at the same time ...my cousin didn't like the books so he gave them to me lol I enjoyed them very much ...Big Thanks Omar...Keep up the Great Videos 👍💜
My very first comic book was X-Men chronicles #2 from the age of apocalypse. The first page was so cool with one hand Logan putting his claws to Magneto's face and all of the X-Men having weird face tattoos and stuff... I was so confused and also so hooked in a first few pages. The rest os history ! Thank you Omar again for doing what you do.
I am so excited to read The Micronauts! The artwork looks insane - super trippy and wild. My first Micronauts comic was the issue #1 facsimile from last year! I saw it on the rack and knew I had to get it.
That’s brilliant - I have never read Micronaut and that’s why I love NMC for introducting me to hidden gems as such. My very first comic book was Batman:The Killing Joke. I still cannot get over how that end blew my mind and till this day no other comic book has ever rocked my socks off like that one.❤
Great overview Omar! Your pitch and the great artwork definitely sold me on this book. My first comic book was Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #4, my dad got me a subscription to it as a kid and I've been into comics ever since.
Really looking forward to this one!!! My first & only copy to this day was X-Men/Micronauts issue 2! 22 years later, I have since been on a journey, every time I go visit a new city where I always make a visit to an LCS, and I keep my eyes peeled for the others to that miniseries. It’s one of my very few “not going to do it on the internet - this will be completed the ol’ fashion way.” Haha
I haven’t read ROM before but your overview has me excited to read it. It was so long ago but my first comic was Calvin and Hobbes and I still love it :)
First comic was actually a collection from a junkyard. Found a box of 90s comics in a car and the store gave them to me for free. My favorite comic in there was What If #105 (spider-girl).
