Micron Legend: Destrons Obtain the Star Saber

Yoink!
Through a fluke of teleportation that luckily didn't result in anyone getting splinched or turning into flies, Hot Rod and Double-Face have ended up on the Destron Moon base and have been wreaking all kinds of havoc, due in no small part to Hot Rod's constant swinging of the Star Saber (and maybe something else). Fed up, Megatron declares that the Destrons must obtain the Star Saber, insisting on what has been a common criticism of Hot Rod since he got it: That he's not actually all that good a fighter and is only winning because he has a super glowy super sword.
At this point, Starscream reappears after having retreated earlier in the episode (because, even in his most heroic incarnation, a Starscream is a Starscream) and becomes excited at Megatron's perhaps accidental implication that whoever takes the sword gets to keep it. Megatron knows a good motivator when he sees it and makes it official. Thus begins a mad scramble by all the Destrons to beat Hot Rod and get the Star Saber because Destrons will always shy away from putting themselves in mortal danger... Unless there's something to gain by it.
But while the other three are busy throwing themselves at Hot Rod, Megatron comes up with an alternate plan...
Though this scene isn't nearly as disturbing as the show will become later, this is probably the darkest moment in the series so far as Double-Face commits what will be the first of many, many side-switches in this series and Hot Rod is left unarmed and helpless. There's no real carnage (partly due to the cheap art style), but any time a children's cartoon has the hero lose so spectacularly is always noteworthy.
Since this is a long clip, there are a lot of changes between the English dub and the Japanese version I could talk about. However, a few big ones stick out: The English dub has a truly baffling error where Starscream declares that he's previously owned the Star Saber several times, gloating that it's in his hands "once again" when he grabs it. Starscream has never had the Star Saber before, and the episode where the Star Saber first showed up wasn't that long ago, so we can definitely file this mistake into the "Just Didn't Pay Attention" folder.
Secondly, the scene where Double-Face tackles Megatron has more dialogue in the English dub. Whereas in the Japanese audio, Megatron growls at Double-Face with a simple "kisama," the English dub keeps up its trend of having Megatron threaten people more, saying, "Nobody humiliates Megatron and lives to tell the tale!" Sideways mockingly says that's not what he's heard before... repeating himself in that kind of petulant voice you'd use to mock somebody and you were six years old? Except he's repeating his own dialogue... So it's like he's mocking himself? Yeah, this scene makes no sense, and it's kind of a relief that there's no dialogue at all at this point in Micron Legend, so we don't have to waste time trying to interpret that.
Thirdly, the English dub has another truly incompetent gaff where Scavenger at the 7:01 mark expresses disbelief that Megatron is going to let Hot Shot go... followed almost immediately by Scavenger saying there's no reason not to let Hot Shot go. Yeahbahwah? The Japanese version instead has Devastator expressing disbelief that Megatron is taking weapons from his own men. Interestingly, as soon as Devastator criticizes him, Megatron backs down and lets Starscream keep the sword. This won't be the last time Megatron will be cowed by Devastator. Is he afraid of him or something?
The shot of Starscream looking at his own reflection in the Star Saber at 8:23 is included in a lot of the character's AMVs here on KZread.
