Nice. Finally someone states that sisterlocks or microlocks originated from Kenya. The Turkanas and Maasai have been doing interlocks since forever since thats part of their culture while using red clay soil to bind the locs. I am almost seven months microlocd. Began my journey with twists though i have interlocked some of the locs cause they unravelled.

My set of DIY microlocs are 24 months this month! Hooray!! Glad to say I've paid no one and have been able to keep em up. They, locs, honestly get better and better

I am enjoying your story...My friend and I embarked on the same journey at the same time for the same reason. Our hair texture we assumed was 4C and we thought we would have similar experiences. I was under the impression I was getting sister locks however I have 238 microlocs imagine that ..SL standard has to be at least 400 now I'm worried about fullness. We're 7months in and I'm worried about how large will these locs will get overtime and will the fullness occur. Having such a permanent hairstyle I don't know... I completely understand you both. It's unfortunate the US standards are so consuming I see that it truly depends on the texture and density of each person's head. I'm praying for happy results.
