    Hi Donny, you asked about this on a 2020 video, but I decided to post it here for visibility =*) great content (as always). We have a couple of trays of microgreens for our own consumption. A business professor once told me to sell before you make. The only reason that is keeping me from starting a microgreens business, is the fact that I have no idea to get customers to purchase them. A video about how to sell them, keeping inventory, where and when to sell them, storage, etc would be a great content for all those people like me. Basically , a video talking about macro-greens $$$ =) .. Thanks man.. keep up with this awesome channel.

    Here is Colorado, The least humid month is June (30.4% relative humidity), and the most humid month is February (48.2%). I read that micro greens thrive best and 40 to 60% humidity, in Colorado Springs is generally more dry…In my house it is hard to keep it around 50% but that seems about the mid range for growing MicroGreens so I have humidifiers, opposite of the dehumidifiers that you guys are using? So the question is is this good humidity do I need a dehumidifier? Or am I OK with what I’m doing?

    I didn't catch your general location, but what is your local population that you sell your product to, & what is the average distance you drive on your delivery days? I have been tossing around either Microgreens or a Worm Farm for quite a while, but I live rurally -30 minutes from a small city of about 11,000. Then, the next 2 cities have a population of 14,000 & 104,000, respectively...in the poorest state in the nation, LOL.....so I've been trying to see how far I can spread out before it's no longer profitable!

    Your channel has already inspired me to start up my mini microgreens farm, i have watched almost all your content👍🏻 But here are some of my queries i will like to ask: 1.How many days is preferable for Block out day (for small seed and bigger seed)? 2.Is it really necessary to use filter water for watering 3.Does it requires extra growing artificial nutrition to grow them healthy. 4.Does it really requires a special growing light? If so specifically which growing light is efficient for it

  • @DonnyGreens

    @DonnyGreens

    Awesome Peter! 1. No blackout - my germination time is about 3 days for most varieties. 2. No, no filter necessary, I didn't use one for over 2 years when I first started. 3. No nutrients needed - the energy comes from the seeds! 4. I recommend using a grow light. You can find links to all the seeds, supplies and equipment I use in the descriptions of my KZread videos! Hey Donny, are there some micro greens that are able to give a second harvest? Not saying that that’s good practice but just curious...like I could see wheat grass possibly being able to give a second harvest?

  • @zacharykanebronson2549

    @zacharykanebronson2549

    2 жыл бұрын

    You could do this with some lettuce varieties and some brassicas that are cut a come again. The second harvest would not be considered micro greens though, as the cotyledon leaves are contained within the seed and only develop once, you would be growing baby greens after the first cut. You're just opening the window more to the possibility of contamination and with the recovery time needed by the plants, it would be faster and more productive to just compost the waste and put the trays back into production with a fresh crop. If you treat it like baby greens from the start it's more than doable to get 2 or 3 cuts, the quality and yield will drop with every cut though. If you want to do this I would go with the deep 10x20 flats and do 4 rows of 8 spaced equally. Make sure to only bottom water past germination, to keep the pressure of mold down. And yes, wheat grass is a cut and come again. The same applies to them as what I mentioned about the microgreens, contamination factor goes up, while quality and yield go down.
