micro nuclear reactor : What You Need to Know!
This is ultra-safe micro nuclear reactor that you need to Know about it. This video will uncover the benefits of Micro-Nuclear Power and explains Micro nuclear reactor in details .
It is basically a small scale nuclear reactor designed to produce electic power of about 20 MWe are often categorised as micro reactors.
Micro nuclear reactors are under development and they could be ready to roll out within the next decade. These compact nuclear reactors will be small enough to transport by truck and could help solve energy challenges in a number of areas, ranging from remote commercial or residential locations to military bases.
Micro nuclear reactors are not defined by their fuel form or coolant. Instead, they have three main features:
Factory fabricated: All components of a micro reactor would be fully assembled in a factory and shipped out to location. This eliminates difficulties associated with large-scale construction, reduces capital costs and would help get the reactor up and running quickly.
Transportable: Smaller unit designs will make micro reactors very transportable. This would make it easy for vendors to ship the entire reactor by truck, shipping vessel, airplane or railcar.
Self-adjusting: Simple and responsive design concepts will allow micro reactors to self-adjust. They won't require a large number of specialized operators and would utilize passive safety systems that prevent any potential for overheating or reactor meltdown.
Micro nuclear reactor designs vary, but most would be able to produce 1-20 megawatts of thermal energy that could be used directly as heat or converted to electric power. They can be used to generate clean and reliable electricity for commercial use or for non-electric applications such as district heating, water desalination and hydrogen fuel production.

Ballpark of initial cost? Annual cost of operation? Time able to remain in operation before refueling or maintenance? I have so many questions

@Jacob The smaller size of micro nuclear reactor makes it possible to fabricate them in factory. This not only reduces construction time but also reduces first cost drastically when compared with conventional nuclear plant. A single unit of micro reactors typically generates 1 to 10 megawatts-electric. To put this in perspective, a single megawatt of electricity can power approximately 1,000 homes. That means these systems could provide up to 10,0000 homes with clean power-24 hours a day, 7 days a week-for 10 years without stopping!

? The smaller size and reduced cost may provide an opportunity in related context - a possibility of safeguarding the environment*. Scientists in Russia, (A.Sakharov), and in the US, (E.Teller), once suggested building nuclear reactors underground. The plan was considered to be too expensive. The smaller size microreactor might lend itself to being built on retractable supports, over a lined underground compartment. In the event of catastrophic failure, the reactor could be dropped underground, and covered. *The hot reactor might melt the underground compartment lining, encasing, and creating a barrier with respect to the water table. *Once covered, the reactor would be more so the equivalent of an underground nuclear test, limiting damage to the atmosphere.
