As a Novice content creator who mainly records on a table top setting, I found that it is pretty cumbersome when it comes to changing camera positions. A lot of time is spent on articulating tripods or even switching mounts in order to get a variety of views especially on the extreme ends from down looking to really low angles.
I saw Ivan Miranda's 3D printed crane on his awesome channel and it occurred to me that a miniaturised crane can actually be used as a universal table top tripod. Unfortunately there are no commercially available cranes small enough to fit on the table and hence I present u the Micro Jib. It is an almost fully 3D printable and very functional crane that still has unexplored potential use cases.
This entire video is recorded with the Micro Jib using a Sony A7S3 with a 16-35mm F4 lens.
It has a maximum weight limit of 2kg based oh my constant loading stress testing for over 3 months. Most compact mirrorless and DSLR systems should comfortably fit within that weight limit.

Sir ,Can I have your email address?
Dude how are you not a bigger channel! Your content is so awesome! Such great designs, really nice color choices on assembly, great filmmaking and transitions. Keep it up your stuff is great!
Impressive.... thank you for this....parts are printing...so excited to build it ❗
Excellent project, a lot of carful details was implemented. 👍🏻
Great job! Add a few stepper motors, pulleys and belts you will have a digital crane. Or almost a 3 axis gimbal.
Very Nice modular design. Thank you for sharing.
i'll buy anything you create just to support you, so you keep helping engineers to solve their problems... i'm waiting for 3D printed Ornithopter from you.

Oh man I really approach your support, thanks!! I took a look at the ornithopter and it looks really cool! Added to my project pipeline!

Amazing project, great idea
Looks so cool! i'll add to my whish list
Amazing design
wow. all nice and clean.
It's cool)more beautiful project)
Pure awesomeness!!
INCRÍVEL! Eu preciso de uma impressora 3d!
Bonjour. Très bonne vidéo. Merci.
Beautiful
Incredible
just awesome!
So cool it is
You’ve done an awesome job designing this and making it easy to build. I bought your plans and put mine together. I have one issue though. I’ve balanced my crane when it is horizontal, but if the camera is above halfway then I’m load heavy, if the camera is below halfway then I’m camera heavy. What might I have done wrong?
Super merci
Sick!
Could I extend the boom arm length about 500mm without creating any balance issues? BTW, love this project, will definitely be buying your plans!
this looks like just what i needed.. great project.. do you think i can get the hardware list before i buy the STLs? the google drive link is broken..
tooooopppp good
Nice!! @Mechanistic Do you have any recommendations to a 3D printer that won't break the bank.
Neat.
Men, this is amazing! Very cool! What is the name of your printer?
Definitely buying a 3d printer to make this! If my camera setup is slightly heavier at 2.5kg, would you recommend increasing the rod diameter through the sectional main arm to support the extra weight?

If you have the time/are capable of using a larger diameter rod, then I would. You will also need to include a larder counterweight, or at least one that sits further away from the pivot.
👍👍

Cool! Where did you get those large ball bearings from?
@mechanistic3d

I got them from Ali express but u can also get them from Amazon. They are called 6810ZZ bearings. U can also check out the PDF file from the description where I provided links to those parts!

@@mechanistic3d I had a look at your PDF, Impressive man! Neat and tidy with clear instructions. All the best!
The design looks great, but what is the reason for the extra smaller beam along camera side?
@mechanistic3d
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! If you are referring to the upper thinner beam, it’s function is to keep the camera level and parallel to the ground as the crane swings up and down. It also serves as additional structural support to handle the camera’s weight
치... 뭐야 가지고 싶다 내꺼하자.. ㅋㅋ
I so want to print this but I have a 1DX Mark III and use a 24-70 I fear it's just going to be too heavy. =/
for some reasons I can't access the pdf.
I want one but i dont have the money
Hanzhen harmonic drive gear , gear reducer, robot gear , over 30 years experience
so nothing like this is on the market for sale??? this looks like 30+ hours of print, another 1hr of assembling.
