What is there to say, except: There is only one Mickey Rourke! He´s one of the kind. Wish there were more actors like him in Hollywood. Amazing speech, filled with humor, honesty and gratitude. And... his little dog... had passed away... Oh, there is no man more good-hearted than a man who loves his dog!

I love that he gives props to Eric Roberts. Anyone who saw Eric's earlier work knows that as an actor he is head and shoulders above his one-note sister. Mad love for this guy.

Mr. Rourke's story of redemption, resilience and second chances is truly inspiring.

He should have won the Oscar!

I like Spirits Award speech as he specifically remembered Loki. I like Golden globe award speech as he thanked Axl Rose and Bruce Springsteen.

He didn't have notes, a script, shitty jokes or planned puns. He got up and he spoke his mind. Not enough people do that nowadays and I think it causes more problems than it stops.

I've been a Mickey Rourke fan since I saw him in "Diner" in 1982. He had some greats like "Rumble Fish", The Pope Of Greenwich Village", "Angel Heart". This guy is an incredible actor today. I can relate about his dog passing away. I've never been down and out but I know enough that when humans give up on you dogs won't. I lost a fur son a couple of months ago and I still miss him. He was a miniature Poodle named "Soochie". He was actually my best friend's dog but he was metaphorically mine as well. My best friend, a woman, was mommy, her fiance was stepdad and I was his dad with visitation rights.

This man is a real badass. Not an ounce of put-on masculinity. He just IS masculine, and he IS cool and he IS tough. You goofy guys out there with your six pack and your wife beater shirts, goin' around talkin' big and acting cocky... This guy could kick your ass and do it with a polite smile.

It's so much easier to accept somebody for who they are, when they aren't hiding behind layers of political correctness, PR facades and excuses. Mickey is not afraid to call a spade a spade. Kudos for being one of the few real people left in the industry, many of us truly appreciate it, even if it stings sometimes.

I remembered Roruke's words about Aronofsky after watching the Black Swan and reading what Natalie Portman had to do to go through to act in that movie, which turned out to be a great one.
