I remember watching this fight live with my dad and brother. We were going for Molina and this was one of the biggest shocks I've seen in boxing. Crazy how one punch just changes it all. After this we went to the Chris Arreola fight in Indio and Molina was there. We met him and I congratulated him on this win. I can't believe it was 8 years ago. Time is so precious.

tmt had front row vip seats to watch their guy get knocked out
He was so far up on the scorecards, it would not have hurt to take a knee or two to recuperate. Just stupid decision making on Mickey's end and I thought Khan was bad . Its moments like these where you gotta give respect to Tim Bradley for having the intelligence knowing this guy ( Ruslan ) has you hurt badly in the last round , close to comfortably up on the scorecards, and took a knee to recover as well as waste time from taking any further punishment.

You may have missed floyd repeatedly telling mickey bey to keep his hands up. It's literally in this video
Ladies and Gentlemen... John "The Gladiator" Molina! Thanks for the memories.
Almost a decade later this is one of my all time favorite stoppages, how he just snuck in that left hook and that's the end of Bey's career. John Molina Jr. was the eternal underdog, but he got a few mid tier titles and he never broke no matter how much he got beaten up. This fight was a good example. (also ranks up with all time instant turnarounds with the Penalosa vs Gonzalez fight)
Seeing Mayweather's reaction to his boy getting stomped is hilarious
That's the COMEBACK FROM HELL!! Molina has power, endurance and youth on his side, but he takes WAY too much punishment. If Goosen doesn't teach him to be more defensive, Molina will be an old man before you know it.

Be real tho. Your hate is really for Mayweather? Anytime one of his fighters lose it makes you feel like Floyd took a loss too? But I bet Floyd doesn't feel that way, he just wants that check. He just build them up that way so the can preform on a high level in hopes that one of them will become a top fighter so his pockets will get bigger.
all he had to do was take a knee , recover , and he still would of won that fight. smh.

Molina has some of the greatest comebacks in recent years...well deserved his nickname "the gladiator"
Good stoppage by ref. Bey was done. This is why I love boxing. There is no 21 point touchdown or 14 run homerun. LOL!
@deNNyTheWiseMAN1

agreed, could have been a pretty bad ending if Molina kept gruesomely punching him when Bey was in no shape to defend his head.
i always enjoyed the way showtime commentates their fights.
il never get bored of watching this
There's something in Goosen that just brings out his fighters heart when adversity is at it's highest.. They always seem to rise to the occasion. That's the kind of trainer you need to make it to the top
This never gets old.
hahaha look at L Ellerbe shouting for Bey to hold

What a bad way to loose owning the whole fight then getting dropped like that
THis is why boxing is king of all contact/fighting sports. Never give up on any fighter. and what is a bit sad about Mickey bey losing is that he is an exciting fighter to see, he throws punches isn't afraid to let his hands go. It seems, however, that cause of this he will probably change his style to a more ugh... defensive style.
bey was the definition of being out on your feet. the lights were on but there was no one home. molina wasn't simply knocking at his front door though, he was pounding on his face. bey actually has no recollection of what had transpired, it had to be explained to him after.
you hear that ladie screaming? sounds like somebody losing there meal ticket.

One of the best rounds I've seen
When they say a guy way out in front shouldn't just coast to victory but go for a KO remember this!
Everytime I see John I think about that left hook and all those bombs he landed to stop Bey. Damn, love this video.
There's a saying, " it ain't over till the fat lady sings. " Good for Molina, who never quit the fight, and he kept on fighting.
Got To Love Molina ,, He has the biggest Heart in boxing ,, completely The most massive. Heart . He can box better than people give him credit , True champ
That is boxing regardless of race. One punch can do it.
OMG awesome so mad I decided to not watch this fight last week.
that left hook that caused Bey to start dancing in lala land reminded me of a Duran hook on the inside, perfect punch on the button
Look at floyd in the crowd like "damn!" As soon as the ref stopped the fight, Lmao!
Now this was a true round of the year, ESPN gave it to Bradley/Provodnikov 12th. That was as one sided rounds could get, but this was truly competitive from both sides and with a dramatic ending.

wow.. i wonder how much floyd bet on this fight.
One of the greatest comebacks in boxing history.
I was there it was an amazing fight! Some people were blown away! Tmt got so quiet.
0:58 eye of the tiger. coherent, lucid expression. this one's a killer at heart
the tenth round bey is still doing great before he got rocked he is an exceptional talent but i think this loss has taught him discipline and respect when he is in the ring
John is actually my cousin. I was 13 that year and was going to meet him at a family reunion but he was too busy training. I watched all of his fights after finding out he was related to me. One thing I could not stand about his game was how much damage he took and would take a beating. There were so many matches that he just got beat because he would eat punches all day. I wish he worked on that before he stopped fighting. But seeing this fight really made me proud and now I brag all the time!
Reminds me of,Chávez-taylor. Never underestimate a Mexican warrior.
Yup, that was the turning point of the fight, right there
John Molina and Andy Lee. Just when you think they have zero chance, they pull some angelic miracle out of their ass and pull it off. Incredible.
what an amazing comeback'
Damn...That last minute would've been a knockout for sure
I was at this fight. The announcer wasn’t joking when he said Molina needed a 9 run home run. Mick was putting on a clinic, then he got caught. The crowd was pretty mild the first 9 rounds haha
this why I love boxing!!
You must be new at this... That style has been around for a loooong time.
Bruh this looks like a family gathering with all those same white shirts, "lets go see mickey whoop some ass"...
this is why i love boxing!! its unpredictable
It was, after Bradley took so much punishment he had no choice but to kneel...Mickey wasn't even warned to keep fighting back.
Man this never gets old haha.
Deixa a luta rolar!!!
I love Floyd's face in the background
I've seen Boxing too much to know when someone is knocked out on his feet. Good stoppage.
U gotta love Molina, he takes a beating but only needs one good clean punch to get you outta there...
You can see Leonard Ellerbe in the background saying "TIE HIM UP!! TIE HIM UP!!"
The reactions are priceless lmao
Wow. I actually saw this fight when it was playing live on ShoBox. However, now that I've seen this last round again, I do have to say that Bey was one cocky kid up until he got knocked out.
Round of the year!!!
He thought he had it didn't he...not quite. Kinda like Chaves vs Taylor lolololol I like seeing shit like this.
It aint over till its over hold ya head Mickey! Youll be back.
I swear watching this im like "Molina reminds of Diego Corrales" then i find out both have/had the same trainer
And in Corrales vs Castillo 1 the comeback also happend in round 10.
I like how the other commentator went quiet when molina is giving it to bey hahaha
Does Mickey Bey still fight??
leonard ellerbe Reaction Is Priceless!
Lol I remember this so well
people saying it was an early stoppage need to step on a ring someday and feel what it's like to be standing on your feet without even knowing you are there
Because that type of style works.
Molina needs to change his "in the pocket" style of fighting, his hands are too long; he needs to jab, jab, jab and land power shots and then some combinations.
Mickey bey is one fine piece of eye candy, I'd love to see what he's packing underneath those shorts
back and forth in the 10th. Un-fucking-believable
Thats lesson for him, do drop the guard down until the bell ring.
Sounded like someone smacked two hams together when the left hand landed
Bey needs to work on that defense he was wide open the whole time.Good stoppage props to Molina.
I paid more attention to Ellerbie more than the fight. Good fight, good stoppage

And there's that 9 round home run.
He didn't get angry that the ref stopped it because he didn't know where he was at that moment bahahaa!

Lol at the corner he was like Ohhh I got robbed lmfao noooo u got knocked out standing
he wasn't defending himself adequately - Good stoppage
Goosen was also involved in another big comeback: Castillo Corrales 1.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA MAYWEATHER AND ELLERBE IN THE BACKROUND LOLOLOLOL ROFL
why? they are both great
awesome, Molina has heart
