Michigan’s offense identity will always be run heavy first. Play the QB that gives you the best ability to run that system. I like Orji given his dual threat abilities and can open up new run options, but if his throwing isn’t on par then defenses will stack the box and stuff the run offense entirely. Whichever decision the coaches go with I will trust and support 🙂

Yes run first but JJ was still able to make throws when he needed to and I’m not convinced Orji can make the throws that will be needed downfield

@@timdepaulis2487 and Orji made NO long throws. And if somehow you feel some type of way we’ll just go look at the analyst that covered that game like Sam Webb. We’re not blind we know who threw the ball better that spring game and it wasn’t Orji

Certainly Michigan lost a lot to the league but has some legit talent stepping in on offense. Tough O line with Donovan Edwards as the lead back, and keep your eyes on Kalel Mullings… dude is absolute bruiser. Great WR room too. All that combined with Orji being a dual threat could equal more big things.

I think the competition is still wide open. Denegal is is a good drop back passer too. Also Tuttle has great athletic ability and experience. Orji has amazing athletic ability. Every Michigan fan is pulling for Warren after everything he's been through. It's great to have options. If Michigan goes 9-3 this season I believe it will be a successful season. The schedule is brutal with many great opponents. Go Blue!

Sleeping on Warren is a mistake. Pretty sure that people are diminishing his physical abilities because 1) Orji is a straight up freak, 2) he's white, and 3) they don't know just how athletic this kid is. And after the spring game, I'm sold on Warren.

If Tutal could stay health, I think he could easily make a run at it. Warren will be the better fit, if Moore goes stronger on the pass. The dual QB has instability issue but might just work. I don't see this season having a lot of time for the backups to play, with the meat grinder schedule.

With Dono and orji in a backfield mixed I. With Mullens and Jordan marshal they should be able to be the top running team in the country (minus the service academy’s) orji has a decent arm. With a whole off season he can fix his mechanics enough to become effective enough to pass

Nice video. Warren had a good spring game, but I think that was mostly because he was untouchable. Last year in full contact games he was pretty bad, and I’m worried about his arm strength, size, speed, and slower release.

Why would you say Michigan doesn’t need a great QB? They don’t have the same skill or depth at WR and RB that they had last season. If the QB is just average then the whole offense will be just average.

Really confused why everyone is sleeping on Davis Warren. I get the hype for Orji, but we don’t need a game break or home run hitter, just a guy to run the offense. I get his running ability could make up for his throwing, but why? Based solely on this spring game Warren looked way more polished as a thrower than Orji did. We’re going to have a top tier run game, we need a qb to throw the ball, not run it.

He’s accurate and apparently clocked 22mph in practice. Alex Orji should be a fill in quarterback, because he’s not very accurate. Michigan cannot afford to have turnovers due to bad throws. I could see them possibly switching quarterbacks now and then throughout the game. If a quarterbacks accuracy isn’t very good, it will only get worse under pressure from the opposing team. Seriously, this shouldn’t be over looked, because Alex Orji can run the ball. This video seems like a big hype campaigning for him, but I’m not drinking the Kool-Aid. I would dare to say that he’s always had accuracy issues and that’s not going to change, especially under pressure. 〽️GoBlue

Agreed, Orji should start because he is the most prepared for the way the offense is designed. I like this kid Warren, but he is less mobile than JJ was, and JJ was no rusher but he was at least solidly mobile. And at that, he was fantastic. Davis Warren is not going to get to start, and he knows it, but because of his showing during spring game will more than likely set off a competition between he and the QB closest to his actual typology - Jayden Denegal, unfortunately for those two, starting either one of them actually sets the program back... all that said, Davis Warren has a future at Michigan as a QB - but again, as already stated, moving in the direction of the drop back passer would (effectively) set the offense back. Then they may as well go dig up Cade McNamara if that's the case. The Michigan Wolverine offense is no longer a pocket passing / drop back passer offense... they finally got with it (with help from John Harbaugh) and stepped Jim into the 21st century. That little nudge, pushed Michigan into the profile they are in now.. and rightly so, they are not looking back. The way I see it, the QB depth chart will look something like: 1. Orji (the Wolverines own Jalen Milroe/Denard Robinson redeux) 2. Warren/Denegal (situationally interchangeable they are so alike) 3. Tuttle (when healed) 4. Davis (warming a bench as he should he's too new) Michigan does not need to hit the portal for a QB, the irony is, if there's anybody considering the portal, I think it would be Jayden Denegal to go first, because his tenure is behind Warren's, making him basically ancillary at this point. Denegal's only advantage, is he slightly more mobile, and he's just a bigger guy... as for accuracy, I think he and Warren are pretty similar, but I think he has a slightly stronger arm though... he can sling it. What's funny though, notice how we're not talking about the defense? Regardless of maize or blue, look how they played during the spring game? They were friggin plug and play... This is going to be a good test season for Michigan. M Go Blue 🏈

Dude really? Copy and paste your bs across many pages? Your take is BS based on a practice where the #1 offense and #1 defense never played each other, they draft teams, it was a hodge podge of 1-4 in depth. Oh Davis Warren has wheel, clocked at 22 mph in practice, and I you watched all his play at UofM and his limited HS film you'd know that. More proof of how clueless you really are about UofM.

Just my 2 cents, we need to stop with what JJ did. Love JJ, but he is on to do his thing in the NFL. The worst thing you can do to up and comers is to remind them about JJ. We know, JJ was the man and now we have to move on. The way I see it is we have a running qb and a passing qb. Maybe, platoon qbs, is that unheard of? Blue does it will all the other positions, why not qb? Like I said, just thoughts running through this old man’s head.😊 GO BLUE!!!!!
