“The officials took this one away from Maryland.” Uhh, even if they don’t call intentional grounding, it’s 3rd and 7 from inside their own 5. People acting like they would have driven 95+ yards in the last 3 minutes 😂

That was absolutely intentional grounding, sorry. The rule is 5 yards, it was clearly 7 yards plus it was at an angle so really it was probably 10 yards if you physically measured it. That's what the letter from the B1G will say. Maryland was never beating Michigan because they couldn't block them win it mattered most...end of story

Also don't forget that they had chances to stop Michigan afterwards too but failed to do so. What about the phantom roughing the passer on Graham or the clearly targeting call on the hit against Wilson...it goes both ways

Michigan going for it on 4th and 8 with the ball on the 26 is not disrespectful. The coaching staff saw how the ball moved on Maryland's FGA and figured it was going to be very risky attempting long FG. Also, Michigan would've been kicking into the wind

I moved from SE Michigan to the Wash DC area 4 years ago. I'm so happy this historic game happened at Maryland so I could be there in person. It was quite funny when the PA announcer yelled "Visiting fans get off the field!" when some U-M people ran out to join in the celebration after the game. So, home fans can do it but visitors get yelled at?

That intentional safety by the punter might have been the biggest play. If they go down another TD in the first, that deflates teams in a way they don’t put up the type of fight they did in this game. I was always concerned about it being a trap game situation, but it’s important to remember that Maryland is a much better team than their record indicates. I Think it was good for the Wolverines to get their first real test before OSU. Although with Harbaugh out, I’m probably leaning OSU. And with JJ’s health in question. Early in the season, I was predicting an ass beating again by Michigan. But I have to assume the distractions might get to some players, and it’s no small thing to have Harbaugh in a hotel during a game. Definitely a failed season without a playoff win. No way they let a 1 loss Michigan in, both with the controversy and their really ridiculously weak non-conference schedule. Hoping for the best but more in doubt. And it’s really only a couple things, but ones I think are monumental. Harbaugh can draw up the best plan he can, but injuries, production issues, and other things have to be addressed on the fly. And if JJ can’t be a mobile quarterback, he needs to rely on his arm. If pressured heavily, he’ll struggle. Having him mobile changes what OSU has to throw defensively. If he’s escaping pressure and given enough time to go down the progression, it becomes a trickier plan.

The targeting call should have been upheld and 12 for Maryland ejected. As far as the grounding call late in the game it was a super easy call to make. 1. QB clearly in between the tackles - no question about that at all. 2. The ball clearly doesn’t make it across the line of scrimmage - again no question. 3. No receiver anywhere near where the ball landed - 8-10 yards away from the nearest turtle. 4. QB threw the ball while in the endzone = Safety if it’s a grounding call. Anyone seeing it any differently is ignorant of the football rules.

Not that it really mattered, but that was definitely an uncalled horsecollar tackle on Morgan’s TD. As far as that 4th and 8 DPI call, yeah, I can see how Maryland fans would’ve been a little bit upset about that. The announcer was a tad apoplectic about it. 🤣 I’m 100% in agreement with the intentional grounding call, though. That receiver might have been in the same *zip code*, but I hardly think that’s sufficient.
