I love Mackinac Island and Northern Michigan, especially the Western coast, is such a beautiful place. I love visiting the family cottage in Bay View that has always been a part of his childhood and memories and has been a part of mine since I began visiting in 1999. It truly is a place that is unlike any other I have visited.

Me too! Some of my fondest memories are camping near Lake Michigan.

This is just amazing! In a world full of hate this is just what I need to see.

What a lovely community!! How sweet. I have tears in my old eyes. Reading this made my evening. I love that the couple knew the importance of praying. And their dear, sweet prayers were answered!!! ;-)

I can just imagine the couple telling the story for the umpteenth time to their grandchildren they all sit around them and as they shout out, “Grandpa, grandma, tell us again about your wedding reception. Please, please, tell us again!” Then grandpa starts out, “Well children, let us tell you how kindness was our greatest wedding present that day…” And the story is told again!

What a beautiful story! I wish this couple love and happiness all their days! To the community, there aren’t enough thanks to go around, but know this, not only did you help this couple to enjoy a day and an experience they will never forget, but provided the world with the kind of story we needed to have to remember not only how to smile but the value of “neighbors” pulling together! Yes, it was on Mackinaw Island and mostly at the Grand Hotel there. I loved that movie! And I love Mackinaw Island, it’s a beautiful place to visit (and to eat fudge, lol!).
