Michelin Anakee Adventure Tire // 1000 mile Honest Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey Expeditioners! This week's video is on my Michelin Anakee Adventure tires. I decided to put some miles on them and give my honest thoughts to those considering a new set of tires for their ADV bike.
Enjoy The Ride.

I have them on the Guzzi V85TT Travel, they are noisy when leaning over but I ride over two mountains regularly and totally confident on the grip. I’ll put up with the noise. I live on a dirt hilly road so the 80/20 fits me perfect. I’ll stay with these. Update: 10/4/21, as I wear these in, I’m beginning to hate the noise. I’ll be looking for a good 90/10 next. I mean the noise is horrible!

Just find they vibrate between 120-150 kph but are pretty good for grip

They should not vibrate. If it does, try getting your wheels balanced by a mechanic. May be that could be the issue and its a serious one, especially on high speeds

I put them on 2019 F750 GS and they howl at about 60 mph straight and lower when on sides of tires in turns, its annoying if you ride mostly street. I wanted good handling tire that would go well if I wanted a fire road. I don’t think I can live with the howling noise and will go back to Anakee III or a more sport oriented tire. If anyone knows of another 80/20 or 90/10 tire that is quiet on street, let me know. My typical goto in past was Michelin Road Sport tires…

I find them very noisy as soon as you start leaning over. Straight up they are quiet They also are very sensitive to tar snakes and wiggle more than any other tire I've owned. I have them on a 2021 R1250GS

@@BNHC0 I spoke with Michelin about the Anakee Adventure tires for my Scrambler 1200 because of the whining when leaning. They said the tires are recommended for the Triumph Street Scrambler (900cc) but not my 1200. The noise is really annoying, I'm going to switch even though I love their performance otherwise.

I’ve got a 23 GSA and these tires came on the bike when I bought it. I only noticed the noise when they were brand new, the noise mostly came from the front tire, with the noise resonating up through the fork tunnel up by the handlebars. I’ve got about 1400 miles on them now and haven’t noticed noise anymore. I run stock pressures 36/42. They have excellent grip, especially leaned over. I was thinking about getting a more aggressive tire next just because I feel adventure bikes should have them if for nothing else just for looks lol. But, I think I may stay with what I have, they have been better than I thought they would be. I don’t do a lot of off road well, none really to speak of unless you call gravel roads off road. I did do 4 creek crossings where the gravel road had creeks run across the road in several places along that route and the tire did good for that too. I have total confidence in these tires. Time will tell on how many miles I can get out of them.

@@BNHC0if that were true then why do they make them for the gs adventure and even come on the bikes from the dealership? Companies make tires of the same brand for all makes of bikes. You can get tires for the load rate of a small bike and a different load rate for a heavy bike like the GSA. When buying tires make sure you check for those ratings and even the speed ratings. When I doubt, call the store or manufacturer and ask which tires of the style you want would be for your bike.

I just put these on my Vee and so far, I'm a fan. My real question is what bars did you upgrade to. I'm most likely going to add a Rox riser and considering upgrading the bars as well.

Got them, believe it or not, on my beloved V7 Stone 850cc since I live in the country and often have to deal with gravel roads. They’re just great. I’m about 2000km in and they hold more than fine. Absolute greatness in the rain.
