"Do not ask who I am and do not ask me to remain the same," Michel Foucault. But to answer your question, in his early phase, from 'Madness and Civilization' to 'Archaeology of Knowledge' he is considered as a structuralist. Then in his genealogical phase, from 'Discipline and Punish' to 'History of Sexuality volume one', he's mainly clubbed under the umbrella term of post-structuralism. And in his last phase, the remaining two volumes of History of Sexuality, he's considered as a philosopher of the self. New historicism is a theoretical school arising in America, whose most important proponent is Stephen Greenblatt. New historicists are hugely inspired by the middle and last phases of Foucault's work. But Foucault himself was not a new historicist.
