He said a magic word I do not hear from a lot of practitioners. He said "When you sparring...." People need to spar as much as possible.

Try this on the public or non-Wing Chun opponents and let's see if you could still do this thing which you call structure.

Look up Alan Orr who's Wing Chun MMA school has won tournaments in MMA. It works bra. Just because you don't know any better doesn't mean you are right... you're just naive.

devilzmantis Alan Orr? Did his trainees use WC or other martial arts to win the tournaments? How often did they win vs the other martial artists? As far as we can see on KZread, almost no Wing Chun was involved in his fights. Did you see the "structure"? Did you see the "sensitivity"? Did you see Tan, Bong, Lap, Pak and other techniques of Wing Chun?

***** This is where most Wing Chun teachings fail... Tan, Bong, Lap, Pak even Wing Chun 90% weight on the backleg stance is mostly drills to build elbow, knee, centerline, stance, etc... Some Wing Chun techniques should not be taken literally. A classical Bong Sao for example is useless in the tournament. An application of Bong Sao in a real tournament can be done in the clinch but the bong has to be very low and close to the body... If you take each technique and do it the exact same way as you do in the forms or drills in a tournament... ofcourse it will not work. It is how you apply it. In Alan Orr there is "structure" and "sensitivity"... all are so subtle. Structure is just balance and being able to deliver a strike without failing back and sensitivity is of course sensitivity and these are all basics in every martial arts. And yes Alan Orr's students have a high winning % in MMA fights though you don't see the exact "classical" Wing Chun techniques, there are basics in their fights. They pressure their opponents and their punches are horizontal. Alan practices classical Wing Chun but he applies it in tournaments differently.

devilzmantis Subtle? If it is subtle, at which part does Wing Chun come into the picture? If Alan Orr were teaching skydiving, could he also claim that the divers were diving using his Wing Chun techniques (subtle structure and unseen techniques)? Do you see other styles of martial artists having this major problem of unable to use the roundhouse kick of TKD/Karate, hook of boxing, static horizontal punch of Chinese martial arts, so on and forth? Why does it seem like only Wing Chun require the practitioners to "not use it" to make it work? Do you realize that it is quite unscientific and self-contradictory to say what you had just said?

Sifu Louison; you are a great martial artist, and instructor! You’re opinion of what will work or not in a given situation however is absolutely wrong! Anything someone does in a fighting situation can, and will work based on the the persons involved, and how it is applied in real time! Prove it to yourself, and any one you touch hands with by absolute unscripted freestyle sparring! Guaranteed; you and the opponent will get shots in of any kind! Whether you totally do wing chun, or “flat bush” dook it out! Please make a video of this, and then comment on the results!

Had debunked this lineage which you had mentioned. And this Sifu should know the people in Singapore practicing this lineage. How did the test happen? 1) 1 WSL lineage guy who had learned Biu Jee tried his Chi Sau on Articient. Articient did not even do much, yet the chunner ended up jamming his own limbs clumsily while trying to perform his "techniques". 2) A Karate guy tested light sparring with that WSL WC practitioner and Articient. The WSL WC guy could not really spar because his limbs were once again jammed by himself (robotic) just like what you can see on KZread. You can get this uploader to contact the WSL WC guys in Singapore to confirm if we (Articient) do have the scientific means to debunk the mainstream Wing Chun and show to the people around the world that this is a pseudoscience which is marketed as a legit martial art and it has been misleading its own practitioners and the public with the marketing gimmicks and propaganda.

@kmden Rt mainstream Wing Chun instructions are wrong. They've deviated from the original Wing Chun and become unscientific. So, they can't work. We have the scientific evidence and findings of this.

@kmden Rt haha, that's because you don't realise we're doing real ancient Wing Chun. :) Watch our videos then use them to compare with other Wing Chun videos. Ours is the only workable Wing Chun whereby we use the actual techniques for blocking and striking even under pressure.

Why train, practice or demonstrate anything that you think you couldn’t, or wouldn’t do in a martial situation? Whether it’s teaching, sparring, competition or street fighting is irrelevant! Having to rethink yourself through every scenario is a complete waste of time and energy. Use what you learn, and train as you fight! Don’t slander martial arts by your opinions and false concepts.

Michael Louison Thank you for your response Sifu Louison! And thank you for the invitation! InshaAllah I’d love to meet you! When I first learned about martial arts( mainly wing chun) I was wrongly informed that at least every move in the 3 forms were what you’d do in an actual fight! I quickly learned that isn’t the case! I however, personally made a point to utilize anything and everything in fight situations! The only time it doesn’t work is when you hold back your own mind to appease someone else( mainly the instructor or school)! Maybe I’ll get the chance to demonstrate my “train as you fight” philosophy someday. As salamu alaikum brother. I mean no disrespect whatsoever!
