Michael Singer - Contemplating Awareness

Музыка

We love Michael Singer’s work. As long as he and KZread allow us to post these videos, we will.
We do not receive ad revenue from these videos, but KZread may.
If you would like to learn more about Michael Singer’s work, here are a few suggestions:
- Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday, he releases talks at www.tou.org.
- Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday night, he gives a live talk at his Temple of the Universe in Alachua, Florida. Anyone can attend for free.
He’s written several books. They are phenomenal, even the ones written in the seventies. (We will receive a commission if you purchase books through these links.)

If you’re wondering what Mickey’s saying at the beginning and end of each talk, it is:
Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. Jai Guru Dev is a traditional Hindu phrase that means Glory to the Great Teacher (the most accurate translation would be glory to the shining remover of darkness), where the great teacher here is generally considered to be the Divine Soul, while we, as human beings, are considered the individuated Soul. Jai Masters means Glory to the Masters, some of whom Singer refers to at times.
Thank you for visiting. Peace, my friend.

This one has to be my absolute favorite! Because all I want to do today is contemplate Awareness. I'm going about my daily chores with a smile on my face watching my personal self complete tasks. Pure bliss! 🌅

I had a dream about Micky last night. We were in this hall having a lesson and he got a red ball out and we started passing it to each other. He had incredibly white long hair. I woke up smiling it was fun.

I’m so glad there’s a community of people out there as moved by Mickey’s teachings as I am. Wow, what a gift he is and all of you are. Makes me grateful for KZread, too: a power tool that can be used for complete distraction or complete awakening, as we like! 🙏

I find it difficult to understand how I can utilise this teaching : Ok, let go of myself and concepts at every opportunity - fine But the self-inquiry part “who/what is the Subject that is experiencing?” it just prompts my mind to come up with an answer/concept like for example the movie-screen metaphor. So I just keep asking and dismissing all mind-responses? And just hope for a miracle insight at some point?

@@matthiasrossa6927 Instead of dismissing the mind-responses, allow them to be. Become aware that you, the Witness, are watching the personal mind think about the movie-screen metaphor. Stay with the "Who", not with the "What". And you're right, you won't be able to hold it for long at first. Your mind will jump into some thought, but every single time you bring yourself back to "Who", you are in the Seat of Consciousness and it is cumulative. It adds up and you will be able to remain centered for longer periods. Mickey talks about the same concept in regard to meditation. People will say they had a terrible meditation because their mind wandered and they had to bring it back more than 100 times during meditation. Mickey says "Pranam to you because you were in the Seat of Consciousness more than 100 times. That's a very high place to be."
