What everyone seems to have conveniently forgotten about Michael's stint at Brawn/Mercedes, is that the car was lousy. It's the very reason why he joined the Team. It was a favour to Ross Brawn, to help provide the feedback necessary to speed up the development of the car. They didn't have drivers with the level of understanding and expertise to be able to provide feedback that matched the usefulness of Michael's. He has a close working relationship with Ross and others on the Team; and they understood each other. So, Michael's car was essentially an R&D car; and as soon as they perfected something, it was implemented on both cars; however, Michael's car would continually be equipped with something that was under development. Things that an established Team would only put on test cars, until they ironed out all the bugs. Ross' Team was far from being well established, at that point. With Michael's input, they were able to drastically reduce the amount of time, energy and money that they would otherwise have needed to get to the level of competitiveness of a works Team. Mercedes wanted results, or they wouldn't invest in Ross' Team. It's fair to say that Michael's time on Ross' Team was never intended to have him win races, or much less to win championships. He was there to do what he did for Ferrari: help make them a genuine contender. That was his focus!

I do agree with you. Michael helped the team to build winning car. He ia the reviewer of the r&d car. Until now, i amaze with Michael approach with the car. Excellent job Michael, i always hope michael manage through his real battle, get well soon Michael.

Its absolutely alright for a person like him to fail. Age does make ur reactions and thinking slow which is completely understandable. He will still remain one of the greats

Lewis is very good but Schumacher is not able to race anymore and who knows where Schumacher will be when he was still able to race.

The only comparison would be to put Hamilton in the Williams or Hass and tell him.to.build the team and win the Championship

This is something people forget. Schumacher went to 3 teams that did not have the best car. When he left those teams, they ended up winning the championship next year or the year after. He just did not win with cars, he awas actively involved in making the car great

Just like Canada 2011, when the track was wetter and harder to drive on Schumacher was more able and performed better even against top-rated drivers like Hamilton and Webber who also had significantly better cars compared to Mercedes at the time. When the track started drying and became less difficult to drive, only then he was overtaken by his rivals. Funny how now there are that many ppl complaining about Hamilton's bad luck with reliability and cry conspiracy, but when Schumacher was having more than double the retirements and set backs compared to Nico for the last two years of his career, no one said anything about conspiracy and that it was unfair comparison. All they said Rosberg beat him. He did outperformed him the first season, but the next two Michael had just that much more technical issues than Rosberg, and even when compared with Hamilton's current season. Just shows that the majority of ppl don't look past the end results of a gp. :3

tubehows4life no they don’t Rosberg would’ve won and Hamilton won 5 at Mercedes so get your maths right and check Hamilton’s 2007-08 season. Plus those titles do belong to Hamilton he wanted a change from McLaren and when he moved to Mercedes it was a down grade and people thought it was the wrong decision

The G.O.A.T is Sir Lewis Hamilton. And if true F1 fans know this. Michael, or Senna, or Fangio used to be considered the greatest, but now it's undeniably Lewis. No way around it. He _THE_ G.O.A.T in every respect.

So Michael has been developing that Mercedes even though it’s Hamilton who is developing it its his input since 2013 This is laughable

If Michael is not a superman then no one is , and never will be. Overrated Lewis commenting on the G.O.A.T

If not Michael then Senna perhaps? You are so focused on Lewis that you even forgot Senna as Superman option. Btw I'm a huge Schumacher fan from Germany, I even watched almost all his races in Hockenheim on the stands, but the Lewis antagonism going on is just ridiculous. I don't say you're a part of it but the first sentence your comment is quite off the hook imo

@chris jones Sir Stirling Moss was a vastly superior driver to Lewis; and he never won a championship. His peers and Teammates, among whom include the likes of Fangio, highly respected him. They regarded him as their equal in every way.

@@user-qt7iv7qv7b nothing to do with his race. Hamilton would need to have a memorable year in sub par machinery. Ala Schumacher 96-98 and Alonso 2010 and 2012. 2. Hamilton has been beaten twice by team mates, who even though world champions, were not the greatest. Schumacher was beaten a single year until he was past his prime. Senna was only beaten in his prime by a certain Prost.

Nunca foi melhor, vi muitas Batalhas entre os dois Mano a Mano, e o Schumacher mesmo com um carro um pouco mais inferior, conseguiu ser ligeiramente melhor do que o Hamilton. Tenho vários registros de batalhas entre os dois pilotos e o Alemão mesmo já velho demonstrou mais maestria e frieza.
