People talk about the greatest athlete of all time and often leave this guy out. There’s very few things in life as universal as swimming and he is the best to have ever done it. The goat right here

It's good that Michael Phelps opened up about seeking treatment for his mental health issues, and not to take away anything from Michael, but the first athlete to publicly open up about his mental health treatment, was Ron Artest/Metta Sandiford-Artest when on the court after winning their championship, he acknowledged his Psychiatrist. And these athletes opening up is great for all of us, athletes and non-athletes.

Actually some world class swimmers are pretty small. Daiya Seto is 5’9 and the 200m butterfly silver medalist Tomoru Honda is only 5’7. Crazy if you think about it.

Much love and respect to Michael. This interview was wonderful at making him less "celebrity" and much more down to earth. I know he always seems genuine but this conversation/interview was wonderful at shining a light on the real Michael Phelps ❣️🤗 thanks for this!

I think it helped that he’s being interviewed by someone he’s friends with and knows whose also famous and sees him as a normal guy who is the exceptionally gifted at his chosen field. There’s also mutual respect back at Chris because he’s also one of the best to do it but it’s because of hard work and god given talent. When you’re in awe of the person, you act sycophantic and laugh at everything, it’s comes across disingenuous and annoying. Like Jimmy Fallon

I've always seen him as an intense competitor playing for an opposing team and frankly have not been a fan. Now I'm getting to know him as a man and I like him a great deal. Hope he gets his ring... though not at the expense of the Warriors... though this may be the year. Mmm...

The lesson here is NOT the lousy-grammar superficial questioning. It is, in fact, Phelps' response to being told by an older, more experienced athlete-swimmer that he "couldn't do it" and using it as a psychological springboard to achieving greater, superior results. And that is one common denominator of highly successful individuals in all walks of life!
