I appreciate Michael Norman's comments on accountability for his performance and his commitment to improving it. His issue stemmed from not being challenged in previous meets, and he needs to make some adjustments, which I hope will work. His competitors in Paris will be much more challenging than what he experienced on Monday, but as long as he runs each heat as if it were a final-like Grant Holloway, Sydney McLaughlin, and Levrone-he will be just fine. Bring home the gold, Michael!

As a fan, it's frustrating to watch his sporadic performances since 2018. The way Quincy Hall ran him down in the final straight away was disturbing.

I think that Michael is just not race sharp yet, but I believe that he will fine tune his race strategy by Paris. I believe that he was thinking about dropping a sub 44 race, and he may not be quite ready to hit that mark yet. This could be a blessing in disguise.... because he will be hungry and focused in Paris.

SRR got 3rd in 2008 Olympics because she went out fast and had nothing left. 2012 she let others pass and then she ran them down for gold. Norman better clean up and focus on the medal and not the tîme. Good Luck in Paris!!!!!🎉🎉🎉

Quincy may have been better, but it IS about racing strategy to a large degree. Michael Norman has run 43.45, so his PB is way faster than everybody else's. If you go out too hard in a 400m, you'll tank down the home stretch. Ask Matthew Boling, who wrote the book on it. You have to plan the race and then execute it to maximize performance.

What an ignorant assumption! This is the first and only time they’ve ever raced. To make a claim that Michael Norman (pb: 43.45) could never beat Quincy Hall (who just ran a pb of 44.17) based on ONE race is ridiculous af especially considering that Norman only had 2 races prior to these trials. Hopefully, Norman works with his coach to fine-tune the strategy before the Olympics which is what actually matters.
