Mando was trying to go for Volker Hoyt. But UBI found him to dynamic and crazy for that role. They were so impressed by his audition they made Vaas character to not let his talent go to waste. they let him improvise a lot. Some lines for Vaas in the script were changed to what Mando came up with. Especially his most quoted "definition of insanity".

Yes...the first time that opening scene...never ever they could make a character close to vaas. After blackflag, everything in ubisoft went downhill. I appreciate that they recognize what far cry 3 is, but i hate that they can't replicate the feeling of it and not just vaas, everything. The gameplay, the storytelling, the environment, the characters...i miss the times where games had a meaning and i wonder if it's because i got older and I've slowly see everything on replay or because they really can't pull off something that stands up to the level of a FC3...

@@TheKeksletsplay To create something truly unique you need to get out of your comfort zone and take risks. Ubisoft is being held back by their board of directors to produce games that make profits and pay the bills, because using the FC3 formula is safe. They know it works and sells, why create something new? But in order to break away from the FC3 formula and bring out something truly unique again, Ubisoft needs to understand that they have to start taking risks again, just like they did with FC2 and FC3.

He's so eloquent in his description of the character and his interpersonal mechanics. Having familiarised myself with the story of the new DLC it is abundantly evident that real care and thought went into what makes Vaas tick, and why he is the way he is. And it's beautiful. Because amongst the rage, anger, and venom that surrounds his entire personality, is a man here to not only question the morality of mankind, but to embody it's worst aspects.

I don't think he means that Vaas is a good guy. He is somewhat of an anomaly, a person who is trapped in an infinite childhood. Children don't understand death and pain as adults do, so Vaas is kind of a pityable character but not good or safe to be around.

i know everyone want to play as Vaas in a stand alone game, but hear me out... I notice ONE major flaw with the First Person/Third Person Perspective: Vaas's attention isn't on you, it's even WORSE with the First person perspective, all you see is Vaas's arms but you can't even see his Expressions. I kinda want to play as Jason again JUST because how much Vaas is just... OBSESSED with you, how much he glares at you, and stare you down, and knowing that nothing Interest Vaas, Jason was the only one that entertains him for... some weird creepy reason. and his interactions SEEING Vaas in First Person can NOT be beat. Idk why, but i really LOVED their dynamic.... the Symmetry theory, and how Jason responds to his deaths in the DLC... their WHOLE relationship is SOO much better then Vaas+Citra, Jason+Vaas is superior then typical Alabama incest nonsense.. ....I mean... don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm shipping those two... their relationship is just so goddamn interesting...
