Michael Learns to Rock (also known as MLTR) is a Danish soft rock and pop rock band formed in 1988. The band currently consists of Jascha Richter, Mikkel Lentz and Kåre Wanscher. Søren Madsen was an original member of the group since its formation but left in 2000. The band has sold over 11 million records over the course of their career, with the majority sold in Scandinavia and Asia. Despite being Danish, the band performs songs in English. The band has attributed its success in Asia to their drug-free, clean-living image and to singing in English as a second language.

That's why MLTR is my favourite band❤.
This band made my high school life even more memorable in the 90's.. listening to them now with their classic hits is very nostalgic. I really missed my life during high school.😥 MLTR Forever!🤘🤘

Just outside of Aarhus this concert is. I lived in Kobenhavn for 8 months on student VISA. Fantastisk time and miss it very much. Wish the band the best. Love MLTR always. 82-83 was when I was there. They make nice babies and good people there. 20th century. The good old days.

Mltr is so popular in the Philippines during the 90s and early 2000s....almost all their songs became a hit all over the country....my most fave is HOW MANY HOURS

Since there is no member in MLTR has the name Michael. In my imagination, the band name refers to Michael Poulsen, who successfully learns to rock and becomes the main song writer, vocalist, and guitarist of Volbeat.

Lentz and Richter have admitted that the band was named after Michael Jackson, "I think Richter was thinking of Michael Jackson, because he was called 'the king of pop' and it was kind of funny, because it was like, what would he sound like if he learned to rock? It was wordplay," Lentz has stated.

Do bears poop in the forest? Yes! 😀 I guess MLTR is a household name in Denmark. Not every band manage to get that kind of success in their own country as well.
