Another idiot told me that Messi has done more for the Argentine national team than Maradona. Imagine that, it's like those morons lack a brain. It's a sham that there are so many great players that most people nowadays have barely heard of or they don't consider them to be great when in fact they were absolutely brilliant: Zico, Falcao, Savicevic, Magico Gonzalez, Cantona, Riquleme, Gullit, Stojkovic, Romario, etc.

Man, i wish i could of seen him during his time. So man footballers say he was one of the best and how he never got the recognition he deserved. Its sad but great that people till this day complement his skill. He is quality!

Well, he did play for Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid and ended his career as captain of Denmark at the 1998 World Cup - so he got some recognition :-)

Yep, Laudrup was considered by almost everyone who played with him to be the best they ever played with including Romario. Iniesta calls him the best ever. He certainly played the most beautiful football I've ever seen.

brillaint video. Thanks. One of my childhood heroes, along with Van Basten and Cantona. The amazing thing about Laudrup was that he was super fast, could dribble and was also the best passer of the ball. Ever. His passes were perfectly weighted. The only weakness to his game was that he did not score enough goals, and Cruyff once said he only played at 70%, which was already better than the rest. Legend.

Know also Laudrup, (from Denmark), but why we never hear about Laudrup? He's glance, his dribbling, his passing, his techniques and his Elegant Ball control. It was extraordinary that he delivered on a football field. When things work for him, it was a kind of art! In my opinion, the best playmaker ever! Sorry for my bad english ;-)

Si se habla poco es porque lo hace gente que no lo vio jugar. Era una maravilla, y en España regaló siete años espléndidos de gran fútbol. To me not only among the 10 best but the best. He reached a level no one ever reached in effectiveness.

A player like Zidane, which can be said to have quite a lot of similarities with Laudrap, is quite a recognized football player even after his retirement (i know that he is of a different generation) but he still received and receives credit for his work on the field. This goes as well for Laudrup, just not as often as you would like to hear though! Ask any danish citizen, who he thinks is the best danish player ever. You will see that he mentions Laudrup, 9 out of 10 times.

Zidane is known for his technique, his ball control, the roulette (Zidane created that), the little turns for a big guy and defence splitting passes etc. There was no-one like Zidane before him and there will never be another.

Zidane did not create the Roulette, Laudrup has done the roulette and did that before Zidane started his active carreer he even does one of them in the movie we just seen. I don't know if Laudrup was the first to do it but Zidane wasn't the first as i recall Laudrup even made the Roulette back in the 80's in a match against Soviet.

For me, the best players are Johan Cruyff and M.Laudrup. Messi is good, but the best football players are the ones that are in front of their time...like Cruyff. He was unique. Messi is far from unique..he is just a dribbler and a striker. Like we've never seen that before? It's easy to be messi when you have xavi and iniesta behind your back.

his lack of international success is one of the reasons... but look at cristiano and messi ... okay... cristiano was in the 2004 euro final but other than that none of them have enjoyed success and are still so extremely exposed ! thats just the way it is... you either have to be good looking (beckham, ronaldo syndrome), score a lot of goals (ronaldo, messi) or enjoy international succes (zidane - would have never been so exposed without), and the brazilians (ronaldinhos breakthrough - ronaldo)

I agree on some points but this point about shitty brazilian football league, this is the same league whos champion side santos battered the european champions in the old intercontential cup. Football in south america in those days was equally as good as european football because its big names played in south america, they all play in europe nowadays, theres a lack of understanding there.
