When I was a child and was watching Little House religiously, I always wanted to have such a family and life, wanted to live in such a house, with such view around the house, ......... . Everything was so wonderful there.

Today we are living Ina different world. So Little House on the Prairie is a great way to close your eyes and visit Walnut Grove. Such simple lifestyles, hard work , very mannerly children.. schooling, church, family eats around d the table. I DVR the series. Michael Landon you are an icon. GOD BLESS YOU.

Show😊 I have a soft spot for Micheal Landen and Melissa Gilbert as actors and watched them in other shows and movies besides this one. Melissa Gilbert did part of one of her movies in my hometown, where I grew up. Unfortunately I was grown and living my own life away from there by the time Melissa made her movie , my mother got to see her in person though. I kind of envied my mother on that one lol

Michael Landon, Mr. Rogers, and others who touched the lives of those of us who were lucky enough to have them in our home each week are and will always be missed. It was the absolute end of good, clean, wholesome family entertainment for all Americans. It does not take much to see how degenerate our Society and entitled our kids have become under the garbage they have been forced to watch for so called entertainment. We as parents have the choice to turn the garbage off and bring out the DVDs and Video Tapes of these wonderful old shows and hopefully the goodness, love of God and family and neighbors will be instilled in our children.

Michael found out on Bonanza that the majority (at that time) of viewers were religious and liked the storylines that followed that. So, his storylines reflected that and laughter which made his shows a hit. People thought he was religious, his life proved otherwise but he did know how to use religion to make money. He was like two different people, on & off camera.

@Beth Davis- He made no pretense about his faith. He was born Jewish but played a Christian in all of his shows. So? He was a great believer in the family and hard work and honesty and treating people with respect. That's why everyone who worked for him loved him. I am constantly reading comments by people whose parents worked for him or people who met him somehow and they all say the same thing . He was a kind and gentle man who treated them all the same. He never considered himself better than anybody from the lowliest worker on the set to the biggest stars. His children adored him and despite his divorces he kept his family together. And they were all present when he passed. I wonder why? So, it seems to me he was very much like all of his characters except - he was human. Yeah, he wasn't really an angel.

I'm a big fan of Michael Landon. I've been watching a lot of shows regarding him throughout his life, and in memoriam. He was committed to leaving a positive legacy as shown in the tv programs he was heavily vested in. The only thing I've been able to find that taints his image, and that only in one's perspective, is the level of control he maintained even not allowing any tv viewing by his own children except Little House. I understand his point of view, but would have hated it as a child.

@Isabella Valencia- He married his 1st wife when he was 19 because he had formed a strong attachment to Dodie's son, Mark - who he eventually adopted. As for Lynne, who met Michael while she was married - I don't know what happened there. Nor do you. He clearly was in love with her and they had 18 wonderful years and 4 beautiful children. I'm not in a position to judge the man because I don't know why the marriage fell apart. You assume he fell in love with a younger woman and broke up a perfect marriage for her but I don't know that to be true. And the rest of his life and the way he lived it would suggest that was not the case. Regardless - he never claimed to be a REAL angel. And I don't think anyone of us will be judged, by HE who really matters - based on just one aspect of our lives. Michael Landon was a good man - not perfect enough for you? That's your problem..

But - he was strongly against drugs and knew how harmful they were to kids. There was nothing hypocritical about that. He stopped with the drugs in his early twenties. 🙂💞

He was very much all about work and his family. Definitely not part of the Hollywood scene in that respect.

I disagree. Charles loved both his daughters the same. He just seemed to spend more time with Laura because they had more in common. Laura was feisty, tomboyish, strong willed and mischievous like he was when he was young. Mary is the ultra feminine one with the quieter introspective and more well behaved personality like her mother.
