Michael Kiwanuka is an amazing talent indeed!

I shared this song with my dad before he died almost 5 years ago. He was crying at the lyrics, he was so moved by certain lines. He said it was one of the most beautiful and sorrowful songs he had heard in 30 years. He died within 2 weeks. The last song that touched him. I miss him. (Thank you the responses.) He was having a heart procedure the next day, already had filled out his PoA and will. He called friends crying the night before he died, he never called me or my sisters. I think he knew he was going to die and he couldn't tell us. I wish he would have. I have so many regrets. I'd give the world to hear him again. Feel the safety of having him hug me. Thank you to the 21 people who read about my dad. He really tried.

I had a similar experience with a new friend in college. We met in one of my classes and immediately started talking about everything. He was a budding young filmmaker and had just earned it apprenticeship what's Spike Lee! The last song we talked about was Jeremy by Pearl Jam. A haunting song in its own right, made all the more haunting for me oh, because the next day he was killed by a drunk driver. That memory will never not be associated with that song for the rest of my life. I'd only known him for scarcely a week before it happened. Still hurts.

I slow danced all night with my one true love to this album, it was one of the most surreal and beautiful moments of my life ....the relationship ended/pasued but 8 years later we found our way back to each other and it's brought this album back and all the associated beauty and memories and new ones we are making that I will take with me to the next life... if there is a soundtrack to the happy memories it will be this album without a doubt.

Exactly! You can say that again. I have mentioned Jefferson Starships Miracles song as an example of an older song from the 1970s that sounds very similar to this one. I heard this song playing a couple years back when doing some grocery shopping and wondered if it was new or if it was from the 1970s. Found out it was released in 2016.

This song has gripped me and given me such bliss. I've planned my suicide twice, once in 2007 and then again in 2018. I nearly went through with each plan until something would interrupt that attempt, and I found myself losing each day, instead of living. And for the first year in twelve years, I'm in a healthy mental and emotional space. I had to start all over again, and this song reminds me of that day, 28th October 2019, when I decided to make the change. Thank you Michael. These times are tough but they are not forever. We can get better. Every day is a new start. You just have to put your running shoes on.

Thank you for this comment. I wish I could bring myself to care about humanity again. All my life I have been taken advantage of and abandoned by people, lovers and friends, no matter how long we have known each other, those claiming me to be toxic and the problem in their lives. That is why I have chosen to name myself Cataclysm. I cause ruin in people's lives, intentionally or not, to the point that I am unable to keep a friend no matter what I try to do. Whether I provide support, truthful honesty, advice, or just ears to listen to someone's problem, it all ends the same when I have hopes that they will do the same for me. I suppose being a tool is the role I am meant to play in life if I choose to continue to interact with others. One day things will get better as it tends to, but when those moments arrive I get suffer through a mental breakdown from all the confusion and mixed messages I get. I hope this cycle of suffering will end soon. I have always been telling myself that I am cursed, forever bound to suffer the consequences of whatever actions I do or others do, for my kindness is seen as an advantageous opportunity. You are correct, though. Stars are only visible in darkness. At some point one needs to accept the dark and live in it to be able to find their own light, for the two cannot exist without the other.
