Michael Jordan vs Isiah Thomas - NBA's Apex Predator Surgically Dissects Detroit Bad Boys Pistons!
Спорт
One of the great hidden secrets to Michael Jordan's career is that his most dominant performances happened during the 1980's. So many basketball fans rightfully focus on the Chicago Bulls championship years, but the true pinnacle to Jordan's career started in the 1980's. Jordan was at a greater disadvantage in the 80's, so even more dominating performances were required just to win. The greater the challenge, the greater the performance, by the greatest basketball player of all times.
Michael Jordan was dominating the game at a level not seen outside of Wilt Chamberlain. This was a guard, dominating a big man's game.
Nobody was ever more championship ready than Michael Jordan. He was the best defensive player in the NBA, he was the best offensive player in the NBA, he was coachable, and he shared the ball with his teammates. You add on top of that Michael's athleticism, dynamic ability to singlehandedly take a game over, and clutch reliability... folks, it's a reflection on how bad the Bulls organization was, that it took that long to win a championship with Michael Jordan. That is not talked about enough. Even when Jerry Krause took the helm, he was infatuated with broken down veterans like Artis Gilmore & George Gervin, and that further prolonged how long it took to win a championship with Jordan. At this point, MJ is still helping to mature & groom his 2 future 3-peat sidekicks, Pippen & Grant, because that's all they gave him.
Michael Jordan was at the peak of his abilities from 1987-1993. The Michael Jordan who stepped foot on NBA basketball courts from 1987-1993 was better than anyone before, or after... including older & younger versions of himself.
This game here, against the Detroit Bad Boys Pistons... this was an example of PEAK Michael Jordan. Calculating, motivated, polished, and potent. This was also the game that caused Chuck Daly & the Detroit Pistons to design the "Jordan Rules" defense. Michael sent shockwaves through the Detroit Pistons organization with this apex level performance!

We took his game for granted. We really thought we would see another mj again. No one has come close
MJ never gave up against the pistons no matter how hard they beat him down he would always rise up and eventually become one of the best in NBA history

One of…? 😂
28:45 That's why I love watching these from beginning to end. You get caught up in the game and he does THAT. It's so much more fun seeing it in the context of the game rather than on a highlight compilation.

I watched that game live on TV and I have the whole game on VHS somewhere at my house. That dunk was spectacular.
He casually dropped 60 against one of the best defensive teams in nba history

and actually super team for this era...
@ 21:48 - did I hear that correctly? Corzine for 3?? LMAO The level of shotmaking from Mike and Zeke was nonpareil. This is elite skills on full display. Contrary to popular belief, 3pt jacking isn't the be-all-end-all of "skills". 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

Look how clogged the paint.Every player from both teams are inside the 3-point line the entire game and yet that’s where they both made their living. They’d both torch today’s nba with no touching allowed and SO much more room to move.

Jacking 3’s is like a drive by shooting. Scoring in the mid- range or closer to the rim is like a fist fight. Today’s nba players want no parts of a fist fight. So they attack you from a safe distance. But the players still think their tough. And the fans think the players now are tougher than players before. Can’t make this stuff up.

@@dc4690I love your analogy!
Scottie was trash in regards to he saying he was better than Mike in his 1st couple of years ,he needs to see film of himself in those younger years sometime we forget about the past as humans
I love and miss the opening theme music. It reminds me of a better time.
Thanks for another great video of MJ. Keep it up!
That old CBS intro is so special!
Unbelievable efficiency.
Man....Pippen looks like a baby deer out there.... 😆
28:45- watch #23. that called moving without the ball kids
Dave Corzine is that 1 person I wished would’ve lasted long enough to at least be part of that 1st Bulls Championship. The guy was a worker down low and was a tough dude.
Jordan is amazing! I like watching these full games. Thanks for the memories!

Once again, Bruce is a heaven sent
I remember watching this game sitting on my couch at my mom‘s house when I was in 12th grade. I never left the couch that Sunday evening. This was a big topic with the guys at school the next day on Monday.
Michael Air Jordan = Lion Heart
Rodman was wild back then
Anyone know which game the fly by dunk at 23 seconds is from? Love that dunk
Without Jordan, the GOAT discussion would be extremely interesting and enjoyable.

28:40 play him like his name was Gary Coleman
Hahaha! So, well said! With him, it’s pointless! He’s clearly better than everyone else and always has been!
Mj the best
I love Michael Jordan since 1984
Mj loves toying with the Pistons .
Has any other player led the league in scoring and steals, much less scoring, MVP and DPoY?

Very! They had 3 of the dirtiest players in history in Mahorn, Lambeer, and Rodman.
This edition team of Chicago bulls sucks.
Jordan gave you 59 points with six assists and they won by two is team trash
The Bulls are basically one era wonders.
