Michael Jordan's Top 25 "IN YO FACE!!!" Dunks

Спорт

I uploaded a Michael Jordan Top 20 "In Yo Face" Dunks video on February 12, 2017 but I deleted than one and uploaded this one because I felt like I left off some important dunks out. I added MJ's dunk on Charlie Jones, Reggie Lewis, Sidney Moncrief, Mark Eaton and Bill Laimbeer. Thanks!

The greatest athelete of the 20th century. Im so grateful to have seen his whole career. The beatings and molding from the piston losses. To the rugged knicks, heat, and pacers. #1 in my opinion is the greatest basketball move ever. MJ is, was, and still is the best.

Yeah those Pistons and Knicks made him tougher than ever. To me he took that toughness from the Pistons though, and couldn't be stopped from winning after that. He already was tough, but after the Pistons it was championship after championship and no team in that era could deny him.

20th century? Try ever. 6’6 with a 47-48 inch vertical. Meaning the bottom of his foot is 4 feet in the damn air at his peak jump. And the way he could twist and still score around anybody; there’s never been another athlete like him. If he didn’t dunk over top of you, he’d still twist around you and score anyway. Still dunking on 7’7 tallest player to ever play Gheorge Muresan at 34/35 years old. Dunked on the other 7’7 tallest player to ever play Manute Bol 4 or 5 separate times in his prime. He was insane. He literally dunked on every great shot blocker there has ever been other than Wilt & Russell because they played 25-30 years before he was drafted. But he would’ve posterized them both too. Multiple times each. If he can posterize both 7’7 tallest players ever he’d have no problem posterizing 7’2 Wilt Chamberlain. Yeah he was the most athletic 7-foot+ player ever; but Jordan was the greatest athlete period. He dunked on Shaq. Dunked on everybody physical. If he got knocked down he’d just go at em again til he posterized them. Every time. Like when Shaq “touched him up” then he proceeded to drop 64 points on his head. His 2nd highest career game and his last 60-point performance. He never did go for 60 after he turned 30. He was 29 when he dropped 64 in Shaq in 92/93, Shaq’s rookie year. But he still went for 50+ all the time in his 30’s. In the 93 finals just after turning 30 a couple months prior, he put up the all-time record for most points in the finals with 55. He averaged 41 points a game that series. He was pissed off that they stole the MVP from him and gave it to Barkley when he put up better numbers than his last 2 MVP-winning seasons both. Won his 7th straight scoring title with 32 and a half points a game and led the league in steals for the third time too. Best player on both sides of the ball and they give it to Barkley. That was just stupid. He should’ve had 6 MVP’s. Not 5…. But either way; he was the greatest player, and the greatest athlete, to ever step foot on the hardwood. Period.

You're not gonna see a lot of guards dunking on centers/PFs today because: 1. Centers and PFs are now often forced outside the paint by players of the same positions who can make 3s. 2. Many centers/PFs today fear of being posterized and rather move away than being ridiculed in social media. 3. Switch plays are now oftenly used by guards to get the 4s and 5s guard them on the perimeter or near the 3pt area.

I think that it's overlooked mostly by people who didn't see him play, IMO. People who actually watched him know that he would bring the ruckus to true C's and anyone else. And what's also interesting is that centers were actually trying to block his dunks. These are 7-footers doing their best to stop him and he didn't care at all. Closest thing today is Westbrook. That guy attacks the rim like he's angry.

Notice after every play he’s running back in defense. Even if he didn’t get the foul call. Most superstars today are too busy congratulating themselves and complaining to refs to bother with defense.

Yep. Basketball fitness includes great speed and strength throughout, but with extra emphasis on shoulders, chest, core to do what MJ did...and because he has wide shoulders and big hands, his strength with handling the ball in traffic to dunk over big men was unique for a guy his size.

This is not only in your face but body to body contact, this is the beauty of the 80s and 90s basketball no flopping on physical defense, every defender wants to block and protect the rim, nowadays players just get out of the way and watch the dunk.
