Michael Jordan Says He Can Beat Hornets Players in One-On-One ►► bit.ly/MJ_Hornets1On1
Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan is known for his demanding temperament. Sure, it probably rubbed many opponents and teammates alike the wrong way. But it also meant it didn't take long to figure out who could and who couldn't stand up to the pressures of sharing the floor and rock with His Airness. One person who could?: Steve Kerr.

    kerr didnt make excuses he got it done....thats why i laugh at these so called talented role players who clearly talent wise can do more than kerr could but how about they master 1 skill like shooting that kerr did...hu....he earned 4 of his 5 rings...it would help their star players win more games....instead of partying all summer how about they get in the gym ...im looking at the iman shumperts and livingstons of the world...your gonna be playing off great passer/unselfish ball handlers ...how bout you learn how to shoot ...i swear some guys cant even hit wide open shots anymore...kerr would thrive in this era

    +Witness Fights happen on almost every basketball team. Everyone is competitive and in practice you have to guard each other. Eventually someone gets upset with the way they are being guarded, treated, talked at, boxed out, beat down, or whatever and have nothing on court they can do about it. This happens literally all the time. It's not a big deal at all and 99% of the time the players are cool as soon as it's broken up.

  • @domais68

    It's hard not to root for Steve Kerr because he defied so many odds by even having an NBA career. He's such a good-natured, humble and self-deprecating guy. I also thought he was an excellent commentator and, clearly, he's a damn good coach. This story has always puzzled me. Kerr doesn't seem big/strong enough to physically get under Jordan's skin. Second, why would Jordan punch the smallest, and maybe nicest, guy on his team? He wouldn't have done that to Charles Oakley! I guess Kerr was probably feisty as hell in order to survive in the NBA and everyone knows about Jordan's legendary temper. I'm glad that the fight was limited to one punch because poor Steve would not fair well in a tangle with Jordan. I hope Kerr can get his back healthy and return to coaching the Warriors. It freaks me out to see Walton coaching his team.

    +james lachs Kerr is a great guy to have in front of a camera, but don't get it twisted. He's from the 80's-90's era of basketball, and he made it to the league on his shooting ability and pure heart and will. This guy would not have made it had he not had that fight to challenge anyone, even MJ. "Nice guy" isn't a word I'd use to describe him, at least on the court

  • @domais68

    @domais68

    8 жыл бұрын

    +RondoStyle9 You're 100% right. Off the court and on it usually exist two different people. That's especially true with people who have to beat long odds. Kerr, with all of his physical disadvantages, had to be tough as hell to make it in the NBA. Some guys don't have to be all that (relatively) tough but they are the gifted ones. (i.e. Dwight Howard; not tough enough!) Few remember that Kerr went through a major, life-changing, tragedy during his Arizona days that must have added a ton of toughness and resolve. I may be reading too much into stories of Jordan's legendary strength and plain to see ability to exert his will on guys twice his size. I'm also the same size as Kerr and played D-1 college b-ball with guys that were all bigger, better and stronger so I relate to Kerr. Even though I agree with you, I'm glad it was one punch with plenty to separate the two because it could have gotten ugly. Happy New Year and thanks for your good comment!

    +Fickle N. I understand what you're saying but to be that good you have to be on another level of competitiveness. Arrogance comes with competitiveness because you have to believe you're going to win. It was part of MJ and Kobe's game that made them as good as they were.

  • @walmartownz

    @walmartownz

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Fickle N. Were you ever the best in anything? Like, in geometry if you were the first person to understand the different triangles and rules associating to them. You sat and looked around at people struggling what special properties isosceles triangles had, and just wondered, "Why don't they get it?" That's how Kobe and MJ felt when they saw their team struggling to who they felt were inferior opponents. That leads to the frustration that superstars have for their team, and why Lebron initially left Cleveland.

  • @ficklesick

    @ficklesick

    8 жыл бұрын

    walmartownz I didnt just happen to put a comment here, I thought before I wrote. I understand that different people have different natural strengths but that doesnt mean that they dont have potential for other things and these people I mentioned in my previous comments have that approach towards their teammates. Mindset, approach, application, resources and support to achieve becoming the best in something or reduce struggling are not considered by many people. I played basketball. I was the captain for the time I played. I was also the best in my school being female and small as well. I understand what you describe but I wasnt arrogant and unreasonable but in fact chose to help my struggling colleagues as well as positioning myself to learn from others who were better than me and in turn teaching those who werent as good. Selflessness is an important factor in personality development and helping others is equally a learning experience. Exhibiting frustration and arrogance keeps one in isolation from being totally cohesive and rather feeds inferiority in teammates as well as discouragement. Hence we have one hit wonders on teams rather than an entire team being stars; rather egotistic I would think. Lebron left Cleveland, you're right but didnt he end right back up there? If he had the approach that Golden State Warriors had when they were now coming up they would be just as good or even better than them. A lot of individuals questioned why several players and coaching staff decided to go to GSW given their less than colourful history at the point in time but sometimes making it big in life for yourself and for the benefit of others requires an individual to stay in a situation that is unfilling and deemed inferior in order for great potential to be realized. Classic example in David Lee. Have you considered what Cleaveland may have become if Lebron didnt leave at the point he did and how much sooner they might have achieved what they have now? And still they're not achieving what they would like to. Nowadays everyone wants to make it big and relatively quickly but greater benefits are to be had when people remain humble, selfless and introspective.

    +Fickle N. I'm 32, so I hated Jordan growing up, because of his arrogance. I couldn't stand Kobe for the same reason, plus I'm a Kings' fan. Lebron annoys me because he appears to have that same level of arrogance, but in a passive way. In 2006-8, I started realizing Kobe's work ethic was unrivaled, so I started loving him. He gave basketball his entire life. I respect him for that. I still think Jordan is an arrogant jerk, but maybe that's the reason those guys are on a level that looks down to everyone else. I was great as a wide receiver, and honestly, I believe I was better than anyone that ever played that position. I may be wrong, but my heart thought different. I believe if I had the arrogance, I would try to prove to the world that I was on a level apart from everybody else. I would have been an athlete that I know I would hate, but everybody would have to respect my game. Being that I never made it to a professional level as the greatest, I feel maybe the greatest needs that level of arrogance. Steph doesn't talk trash because he's a Christian, but his antics on the floor are very arrogant; e.x., turning around, looking at the opponent's bench players, then running to go on defense . . . all while his 3-point shot is still mid flight. He possess the arrogance as well, but he's the baby-face assassin, so we all love him. Peyton Manning isn't arrogant at all; but, is that why the arrogant Tom Brady has the edge over him? I know I talked forever, but I just wanted to say that maybe that arrogance may be needed in a competitive sport. Cheers miss!
