This Lebron fan tried to tell me in the same thread that Rodman had gotten "old" when he lost to the Bulls with the Pistons then implied that Rodman was still at his peak when he and Pippen helped Jordan to championships. YOu can't have it both ways.

@Turtle Island LAC Well, that's a bronsexual for ya. This is what they often do. They CONSTANTLY (and consistently) contradict/undermine their own dumb talkin' points. They'll say ignorant sh*t like that, because they tend to NOT know about anything/anyone, past 5 mins ago. And they ALWAYS try to compensate for their ignorance, by using false narratives of this type. They're so desperate to discredit MJ, that they'll say dumb sh*t like this, only to be blindsided by REAL FANS, who'll point out to them that they've just TOTALLY contradicted their own premise LOL!! They're idiots of the WORST kind: willfully ignorant...SMH

Rodman was 28 years old here, hardly old. Lebron fans in general try to say this Pistons team was old, even though the only guys over 30 were Laimbeer, Edwards and Vinnie Johnson. Their best players were all 29 or younger.

This was a tight and very close game like in Game 2. But the Bulls kept their poise, played their brand of basketball, and frustrated the Pistons on defense. And when they won game 3 in Detroit, the defending 2-Time Champions knew that their Reign of Terror over the East was in Jeopardy

@@AHMAD-2324 Every dynasty is stacked as the best usually win such as the Birds Celtics, Magic and Kareem Lakers, and even the 83 Sixers. Also 91 Bulls vs Lakers the Bulls were much better than the injured Lakers. 92 Blazers is the the only year I'd say the Bulls faced a more talented team maybe 96 Magic/93 Suns as well. Now, MJ didn't always have the most stacked teams in the league every year and neither did Bill. In 68 he beat Wilt and the 76ers, which is one of the greatest teams ever with Wilt finally being the goat defender ever and not shooting as much. Then in 69, Bill beat the Lakers with Wilt, West and Baylor. Who has MJ beat that's better than the 69 Lakers? Better than the 68 Sixers? Who's better than Wilt, West, Baylor and Oscar that MJ beat? Shaq is the best that MJ beat in the playoffs but wasnt in his prime and not better than them yet.

So methodical picking the Pistons apart in different spots. He just knew when to do what. Sometimes he will go away from the double team towards the baseline and shoot, other times he will pass out of the double team, or he will take the defender one on one. With shooters like Paxson, Armstrong and Hodges on your team, it kept the defense honest. Zone defense was not allowed in those days, if the offensive player was at the 3 point line and the defender was in the paint, that was illegal defense. 2+ illegal defense calls and it was a free throw.

The stat line reminds me of another stat: MJ was the first to give you 200 steals /100 blocks in a season, and he did it twice while ALSO leading the league in scoring with 37.1 PPG and 35 PPG the other year. (Pippen and Olajuwon are the only other players to record 200 steals / 100 blocks) Just imagine facing the full court press - you have to the bring the ball up - and you're looking at MJ and Pippen......

Who ever thinks that someone other than Michael Jordan is not the all around greatest player, really doesn’t know basketball. Fortunately he played at a time when men were men, and it was a man’s games, and today’s players including the superstars are so sensitive by all of the attention and nagging of the media, and the potential negativity of social media. Today’s athletes are too sensitive emotionally to have played in the era of yesteryear. The super max contracts have taken away the Jordan, Mamba attitude. But Jordan is by far the all around greatest offensive, and great defensive player, and by far the greatest competitor. Remember he had to beg to play after his injury.

As a Knicks fan, this was definitely NOT an "easy" NBA championship. They lost only 1 game to East foes who were physical and made it look easy. Then they beat the showtime Lakers who beat an up and coming Blazer team who featured Drexler - who, at this time, was being compared to Jordan.
