MICHAEL JORDAN DEFYING GRAVITY

Спорт

The highlights of Michael Jordan between 1984 and 1993...the first part of his career before his first retirement.
at this time Jordan was unstoppable, creative, quick, smart, powerfull and very dominant when he attacked the basket...an "killer mode"...
the real king of hangtime, circus shoot, reverse lay up,dunks, pass and fade away jumpshot...all in perfect and ingenious tricks to beat his oponents.
Many great actions and some rare footages in regular season and post season reunited in 20 minutes....enjoy.

The degree of difficulty of most of these shots is off the fuckin' chart, yet MJ pulls them off with such ease. For all his strength and quickness, he had unbelievable body control. He was so graceful--his game was beautiful to watch.

I love modern NBA. I grew up with the post-jordan guys like Tmac, Kobe (rip), Vince Carter, iverson etc. They were great, but they were all emulating jordan and none of them were quite on his level Modern guys aren’t trying to be jordan anymore. It’s a much higher paced game. More ball movement, less iso And I just wish we could see jordan in today’s game. He’d 100% be a great 3pt shooter if he was coming up today, but there’s no guard in the NBA that could deal with his post game

3:29 Hubie Brown "he has nothing, absolutely nothing, and he makes... something.. out of it!" Nobody can do this - the most underrated layup ever! He drove to the basket, stopped on a dime, and jumped seven feet sideways, breaking through one defender who had his full hand on the ball, and leaving the other defender jumping for air... pure strength and athleticism.

I have to admit something. The very first basketball game I ever saw on tv was game 6 of the 98 finals...the last game MJ was a Bull. That is what got me into watching and playing bball. Im 25 and only caught the end of his career and the couple years he was a Wizard. I do have over 500 MJ basketball cards and I know all his stats lol. I also watched the entire careers of KB and LBJ so far. Even the little I saw of Jordan live showed me that he was head and shoulders above the rest. Watching all these highlight videos on youtube though always gives me a new healthy respect for him. I could never get tired of watching this man play ball. That is an intangible difference between him KB, and LBJ. I dont have the right to say this but Jordan is the G.O.A.T.

Jordan has the best layups and dunks ever. Not even Carter dunks like Jordan, where Jordan dunks EVERY year over countless players, and multiple players at once too, from all angles. His baseline layups and dunks are not even remotely matched by anyone. Jordan driving the baseline and Jabbar's skyhook are the two deadliest weapons ever. Jordan is incredibly strong, with players dropping or bouncing away from him like falling dominoes. Jordan is in a class of his own... it's not even close.

Nobody could dunk quite like MJ in game conditions. His dunks weren't about the tricks like between the legs that the kids today use to wow us. His dunks were about getting off the ground as fast as possible by just reaching up with one hand because he had such huge hands - he could grip the ball like very few guys and for him, dunking is like what us dunking with a volleyball would be like. He didn't have to bend down to jump with the extra force required when you use two hands to hold the ball - this is what all other players have to do. Even when they dunk with one hand, they usually grip it with both, jump and pull back their right hand with the ball to generate momentum to dunk. Having huge hands allowed MJ to do things so differently - at the basket and all across the court and especially with passing. He was truly special.

Love the Castlevania II beat you have going on here! MJ - The complete package of athletic gifts. Incredible "turn on" starting power (first step). Incredible ability to stop on a dime and either elevate or change direction. Outstanding one and two foot jumping ability. Incredible lateral quickness. Incredible body control in all planes. Outstanding pure speed. Freakish length (arms and hands), outstanding Relative strength (he was only a 198 lb in the 80s, 212 lb - 218 lb as he got older). Freakish vision according to Bill Simmons (read that story if you can). His flexibility looked to be good although Tim Grover once said MJ's flexibility when he first came into the league was subpar... Possibly the greatest endurance athlete in NBA history, especially when you consider how much of a "fast twitch" specimen he was. Incredible durability. A broken foot was his only prolonged DL injury in his entire career. On top of all of this, he just had a cooler looking body that moved a lot cooler than everyone else. No one since has had all of these gifts in a single package. No, not Lebron, not Kobe, not Westbrook. I like all of them but none of them had this combination of gifts. I wasn't born when Wilt was around so I can't comment there. On top of all these physical gifts, we're talking about the most mentally tough competitor in the history of sports. Lightning quick mental processing, incredible discipline and work ethic. Zone like focus at all times. Arguably the most clutch basketball player ever. A will to win so strong he literally hand mind control over his teammates and opponents (and coaches and refs lol). This guy is an all around human freak like very few others in the history of this planet. Don't expect another one for a VERY long time. If ever.

When people compare other athletes to MJ much less other basketball players it's laughable! Greatest compactor, athlete, leader , defensive player for his size and greatest clutch shooter there's ever been. Also he elevated his teammates to way better playing then they were capable of. He is the Pinnacle without anyone in his discussion.

Wilt Chamberline was the most dominant player ever but he played in a much smaller era. In todays game I believe he would still be way above average but nowhere near what he was in his day. MJ on the other hand is the greatest ever and we will likely never see another career as accoladed and celebrated as his.

In my opinion, only two players are in the MJ level, Bird and Magic, but LJ is not so far, and perhaps MJ is a little better than Bird and Magic. In the LJ level I think is Kobe, Durant, O'neal, Olajuwon, Barkley, Drexler, I. Thomas, Iverson, Rodman (the best defensive player I've never seen), Pippen, Abdul-Jabbar , and a huge list of hall of fame players, the real superstars of this amazing game.
