Magic shouldn't have won that fmvp , Kareem avg 33 14 and 4 blocks for the series and magic avg 21 11 8 and won fmvp due to Kareem missing one game . Magic also had a teammate score 37 points in tht same exact game Kareem didn't play . Well if we're judging by the way Michael chooses talent then I can't go by that word because we all know that he's not a great judge of talent lol And he's not the 🐐. What criteria says so? He doesn't have the most championships, he doesn't have the most points all-time or the most assists all time, yes he has the most points per game but that's only because Wilt Chamberlain stop scoring on his own volition, and other guys didn't take as many shots as he took, he doesn't have the most All-Star selections he doesn't have the most all-nba selections, he's not the best shooter of all time, he's not the best ball-handler of all time, he's not the most complete player of all time, he can't guard Bix he had a hard time guarding smaller faster guards. He can't guard 1 through 5 you can't play 1 thought 5. So what criteria?

@flawless39 although I agree with you on MJ, there's no real criteria on an actual goat without major contradictions. I’ve been watching basketball for the better part of 40 years and I still say Magic Johnson is the greatest player I ever saw in my life. Michael Jordan was, with no doubt, the most prolific scorer ever, and I understand why the majority of people think he is the greatest, but I truly believe that Magic was the most well-rounded player to ever play the game. He could score 40 points when you need him to, effortlessly dish a dozen assists, and put up double digit rebounds and steals on a nightly basis. Every single night with him was Showtime. Five rings in 10 years is damn good in anyone’s book, especially considering that the competition was Michael Jordan, Larry, Bird, Dr. J, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and other Hall of Famers from that era.

Man had eyes in his ears and the back of his head, and could basically get the ball to anywhere on the court where his team had the best look. Absolutely head and shoulders superior. It will be a minute until we see passing abilities that good, with hands like Michael Jordan and his 6’8 filled out frame. One of the best to ever play the game.
