So many comments here about the size of Bubbles. People, please realize, little cute baby chimps do not stay small. They grow into large, extremely strong, very complex animals that have NO business being pets, period. I worked at this sanctuary. I got to know Bubbles. He's really a very sweet character, sort of a gentle giant, but even still he, like all chimps, can be unpredictable, but the sanctuary does a wonderful job of a providing long lasting, positive environment for these animals

I wished that they would have made that pen bigger and more spacious. As you said in the comment above chimps grow up just like any living being. No offense or anything but the pen seems to be to small for the bigger apes like Bubbles and the Orangutan.

Bubbles is NOT dead. He's alive and well in that sanctuary in Wachula, FL.

how is bubbles doing today, I hope is still alive and doing well, just haven't hard much about bubbles sense Michael died 😥😔😔😔

i live in florida and my uncle works at the center of great apes where bubles lives so i get to play with Bubles a lot and he is very healthy

I agree Poor Bubbles, I bet he's constantly looking out for MJ to see if he's the man in the mirror but honestly no matter how close they were the kid was not his son! 🤭😆

This really gets you in the heart. Especially since Michael and Bubbles were so close. I can only imagine if the chimp had still been living with Michael at the time of his death...Wow, but at least he's doing good. He's almost 30, wow!

Its a sure fire way to prove even as bubbles tells us fame. doesn't last forever. And were all naked in this world .

It's comforting to see Bubbles healthy and well. Living peacefully in a sanctuary where he is not going to be disturbed by press or adoring fans. Michael had the best of intentions when he bought Bubbles. However, he had no knowledge of his needs. I would imagine he had the best. A mansion is not the best place for a chimpanzee. If he asked for advice, they would have told him they don't stay little, there are plenty of dogs at the shelters that need a home. Dog shelters are overrun with pets, it would have been easier to accommodate and dog proof Neverland than monkey proof, it would also be easier to find a vet for a dog.

I feel bad for poor bubbles :(

@PkzMoonWalker he might not have had any choice about sending Bubbles to the sanctuary but Michael certainly had a choice about visiting Bubbles there and he never did go see him. So that just shows that Michael did not love Bubbles. Too many people have baby chimps for pets while the chimps are babies and then just throw them away to medical labs for experiments or if the chimp is lucky, they are given to a sanctuary.

Terilyn04 he really did love bubbles but you have to remember he was constantly busy and touring and on the road it would've been extremely hard and probably painful to come and just leave again.

By the way - THANK GOD he doesn't have to wear all that clothes anymore , that they use to put on him!!! Looks terrible and so WRONG!!! (EVEN if Michael loved him - OF COURSE he did!!!) @@jonathanwright8025 Thanks for telling......-after 2 months.....- but I wish I didn't have to know.....-it makes me so sad.....😢 Let's HOPE Michael visited at least a FEW times......... - and that the "sources" are wrong! (WHO can tell that they are telling the thruth??? We NEVER will know!!) And IF he didn't visit - it was for a GOOD reason! Not that he didn't love him! But for all the paparazzi and so on! But also , Bubbles might have been just SAD if he was there visiting , and then left again....... I want to have memories from the time they had together , when he was little.. - and nothing else. And at least he was taken care of after leaving Michael , and in good hands with food, caring and staff looking after him! ❤ And for all the people saying that MJ didn't love him - you can say what ever you want to - I will have my own opinion about that - and that is NOT the same as you all!!!
