I'd just like to say thank you for uploading this, I really couldn't bear another minute to see MJ Beats corrupt the viewing experience with a narcissistic watermark. This is what it's all about, no bragging, just presentation. I actually think you deserve more notoriety for this than he does because he improved upon it and still don't go flashing your brand around on a popular item for cheap publicity. The stereo mix was a smart move, I had forgotten about the little preset you could tweak in SV to create an effective outcome. Just, well done in all areas, I hope when a better quality, no watermark version of the Johannesburg performance comes out you'll be able to work your magic and stun us again as you have with not only this, but your work with the Second Night of the Auckland leg really had me going. It's probably the best out there in terms of sound and one of the few I can find that doesn't have that horrendous cut from the drum solo when he's prepping for the circle glide. Thanks again.

I downloaded the video from MJ Hideout and used Sony Vegas for the stereo effect (multi-tap delay)

Do you have or do you know of a good quality HIStory tour Billie Jean studio version. The versions that I found seem to lack how "rich" the bass sounds in the beginning. Will probably need it next winter for a performance.

It was hard to boost the isolated adlibs and there might be some distortion depending on your speakers. The main backing track is from a midi karaoke unfortunately the guitars aren't very clear but otherwise it sounds similar to Dangerous Tour and HWT to an extent. I don't have an actual keyboard I just recorded the choir sounds off an online synthesizer.

Wow thank you much for this. I'm sure Alex Blanco or other dancers who like the Dangerous Tour will love this I'll just go through this: 1. 00:00- The drums are just killer. Nailed them. The bass in the beginning sounds a bit distorted though. Otherwise the bass is perfect for the entire track. On my headphones and on my speakers. I like the way it sounds in Münich '97. The chak-a-chass at 0:11 is a bit weak though. 2 .00:20: The horns are a bit too punchy. They fade a bit too quickly. This applies for the rest of the song as well. 3. 00:38: Perfect! 4. 1:06: Perfect! (tan, taaaan, who will dance..) 5. 1:14: The effect (I don't know what it's called). It sounds a bit too far away 6. 1:30: Synths are a bit too overpowering. 7. 2:20: the three hits are a bit too weak. 8. 2:33: "Hee hee hee" nailed! 9: 2:35 onwards: Nailed the synths on this part. 10: 2:39: Missing drums on "She called me to her room" 11. 2:44: The effect after "the smell of sweet perfume" is a bit weak/distorted. 12. 2:52: Again the synths are bit too overpowering 13. 3:30: I just have to emphasize just how good the percussion is. You've already talked about the guitar so I won't comment on it here. 13. 3:56: The "oo" from MJ sounds a bit echo-ey. 14. 5:44 onwards: The bass drum is fricken perfect. 15: 4:18: The four beats should be sharper. Thanks for the input. I will be busy the next little while so I probably won't work on it much. The Billie Jean multitracks are out there but haven't leaked out yet. I used the background vocals and strings from the 5.1 DVD mix but they are baked into one another. There's no way of removing the second trumpet during the "heee". I've also found a multitrack of a similar karaoke arrangement to this one but I would need to redo it from the ground up. I will try overdubbing the guitar but will need to get it in sync. anthogeneration13 uploaded the instrumental I used as Billie jean live in dangerous tour instrumental (Officiel) but it has some inaccuracies which I tried fixing. Originally I recorded my own background vocals and yelling at the end (I left mine for the last line of the file above to give it more of a stereo effect). I use Sony Vegas for mixing but I don't have a keyboard to input instruments and Vegas doesn't support it anyways. Also with so many tracks my rendered file sometimes has unexpected crackling distortion... The vocals after the moonwalk were isolated from the Brunei HIStory concert - the isolation process takes out some depth to the vocal so it sounds rather hollow.

I got the multitracks now (you can download it on MJJC or MJHO). I will need to rebuild the song from the ground up. One thing I noticed with the 5.1 mix is the strings are on the wrong side but the vocals are properly panned.

yeah unfortunately you can't really enhance a shitty source. I'll try and see if there's software that can fill in the skips. The other thing that could be done is to dub the audio with another concert's but the live part is different

Unfortunately making a mono source into a fake stereo just creates this weird drainpipe sound. I prefer original mono over this, bit it was worth doing to give viewers the choice. And yeah, this concert is still the best of the 1997 ones we have, for me. Wish the sound at least had that amazing bass that Johanasburg has. I watched that show twice in a row with headphones, just for that bass lol. The bass guitar is really loud in that show too xD
