Live at Wembley July 16, 1988 is a live concert DVD by American recording artist Michael Jackson released on September 18, 2012. The DVD was included with the Bad 25 reissue, as well as a stand-alone DVD. This is the third tour by Jackson to be released on a home format (the first two being the first leg performance of the DVD Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour and the VHS HIStory World Tour: Live in Seoul). The recording is a performance of the Bad world tour, performing songs from the album Bad. The music video for the song "Another Part of Me" features footage from other concerts in Wembley as well as Paris.
This particular concert took place on July 16, 1988, at Wembley Stadium in Wembley, London, to a sold-out crowd of 72,000, which included Diana, Princess of Wales and Charles, Prince of Wales. Jackson originally removed "Dirty Diana" from this night's performance, worried that he would offend Princess Diana or the royal family. However, the princess informed Jackson it was her favorite song. In an interview, Jackson stated that he was unable to put the song into the set, which led some fans to believe "Dirty Diana" was not performed on July 16. However, leaked audio snippets prove that the song was re-added to the setlist.
In addition to the full July 16 concert, the DVD also includes "The Way You Make Me Feel", from the previous night on July 15 (the song was not performed on July 16 due to a late start of the show) and "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", and "Bad", performed on September 26, 1987, in Yokohama, Japan. The Bad 25 deluxe package also contains a CD of the audio from the July 16 concert as well, with audio edited down to 80 minutes from the original 2 hours.

@ƝᎩ BRAXTON [̲̅1][̲̅2][̲̅5] Oh I 100% agree both the Dangerous and History eras are grossly underrated especially when it comes to the musical side of things. I mean Dangerous gave us "Remember The Time", "In the Closet", "Who Is It", "Jam", "Black Or White", "Gone to Soon", "Heal The World" and "Given To Me", and then HIStory gave us, "Scream," "Stranger In Moscow", "Earth Song," "D.S.", "You Are Not Alone", "Childhood", and "History". In my personal opinion (that no one has to agree with) I think one of the biggest issue was the presentation. Yes Michael was still making his short films and yes they were still bold and ambitious but they just simply weren't "Beat It" or "Bad" level iconic, I think the closest he came was with the "Remember The Time" video but again it's just not as culturally defining. Also if you think back on iconic Michael Jackson looks History and Dangerous are really lacking.

@ƝᎩ BRAXTON [̲̅1][̲̅2][̲̅5] Honestly I'm not that crazy about BOTDF but Invincible is so tragic to me. For one it was his last album and for two it's so good when it didn't need to be. Plus hearing a 2000s version of Michael Jackson really makes it stand out.

The reason Michael Jackson's music didn't seem as "popular" later on is because he was purposely done dirty by Sony when his albums were getting boycotted by them.

The Yokohama performance, especially Bad, is my favorite concert to watch along with Wembley. He was at his finest here, of course his dances got progressively better over time though Dangerous and HIStory, but he was so full of life and looked overall happier here because there were no stupid accusations towards him and he was on top of the world as an artist with pure talent. Plus the great live vocals that got less and less present in his future concerts. But this performance of Bad specifically is my favorite. It’s one of my favorite songs along with Human Nature and hearing him sing it live makes me happy.
