George’s version made you feel like you were in a “Smokey jazz club”. Very simple and direct. Love both versions.

Buble's version is akin to that of a '40s/'50s era pop jazz in the vein of Frank Sinatra (my late dad's fave singer BTW LOL).

My favourite song . Michael Bublé does not sing badly, but he sings the song only ... George not only sung this song better, he also lived the song. Rest in peace ... my greek god will never die.

Nothing tops the original but that was really a fine arrangement. And Buble was fantastic. It took a lot of talent to come behind Michael, but Buble pulled it off.

Buble made his rendition more of a jazzy standard akin to Sinatra. I mean, you can thank David Foster for that.

My thoughts, exactly! This song is not for any great singer I can remember, whether it's the 40's big bands (I wasn't born yet), 50's, and on. Kissing A Fool is George Michael's song. I listen to it almost every day, usually very late at night, relaxing, beautiful and then sad.Worth every second.

There is no way anyone can possibly cover this song except George Michael himself... I heard Michael Bublé rendition and, don't get me wrong, he's a wonderful singer but the feeling, passion, soul that George Michael instills, are quite impossible to replay... thank you very much Mr. George Michael, you may be gone but never forgotten!

@@tonyv7603 If you read carefully, I said only George Michael can cover his own songs. I know he wrote the lyrics, I'm a fan since 1984, so yes.

The original song's arrangement was jazz oriented, so it's no surprise that Michael Bublé would cover this. It was perfect for him to do. I'm not saying he's a better singer than George Michael, but this song is in his wheelhouse, and he did it justice.

This is one of my favorite songs, and I love both versions for two different reasons. When I listen to Buble, his tone makes me feel a sense of longing for someone, but when George sings it, he does it in a very soft, syrupy almost honey-like way that makes the song melt in your ears.

The soul is missing with this one. When George sings it...you can feel it.

Usually I really don't like "covers" and "recaps". As a George Michael fan I'm totally convinced that no one ever can sing this song better than George and that this song will never need to be updated because it's timeless... But after hearing Michael Bublé's version the only thing I can think about that this performance has the quality, the ambience, the professionalism and the respect (for the original performer) what could make it admissible and even enjoyable. Big respect for singing it with so similar to George and even individual (in Bublé's style)! Hommage!

So 1940's. Every time I hear that, it feels like it's coming out of a scratchy and hissy shellac 10" Columbia record, playing on a weary RCA radio-phono, featuring Bing Crosby or Sinatra, while I sip a dirty Martini - then sometimes I picture myself stretching on the beach, on a sun lounger, sided by some whinesome Zenith portable tube radio half-buried in sand squeaking it out, while the seagulls cry far away and a few WWII planes zoom past rumbling in low flybys, me sipping a half-warmed Keystone Choice Hops from a glass bottle. Nostalgic enough for someone like me, who was born in 1963 and never been there, though.

This is one of my favorites, and it has been more than 20 years. Please appreciate two versions of it, George Michael and Michael Buble. I love them both.

This is an amazing song and both George Michael (who wrote it) and Michael Buble' (who covered it) do spectacular performances. I first heard Michael Buble' sing it and since I heard George Michael sing it I am now a total fan of both. They are both so TALENTED !!

i don't really care what anyone says. Both George and Michael are amazing singers! Michael does a great cover of the original and in my opinion it is done beautifully. So lets all stop the hate shall we and enjoy this amazing song :)

Buble's version is like an oldies 1940s version. George Michael's is modern contemporary.

I just discovered this cover and, personally, I do really appreciate that a young artist covers this classic. When the Faith album appeared, GM was considered, at his best, a pop phenomenon. Time makes justice of everything.

If you’re not a ballad, soul, adult contemporary fan, then you might say you hate this version than the original. But the truth is, Buble also sing this great. He kind of have made this song as his. If I never knew this song was originally sang by George, I probably would say that Buble made a cover from 1960s.

I might never had known George Michael wrote this song had it not been for Bublé's recording with this great horn section.

Buble really brings this song to life...George Michael is the genius songwriter who penned it and first recorded it...George gave it a life of its own...and now Buble really shows what a great cabaret number it can be. Stop hatin', people. There is room for both versions...each may have his or her favorite, but they both do it justice.

This is good and it also shows you how good George Michael was. I don't think Buble was trying to do it the same way, he did it his way. George I am sure would have approved of it after hearing how he did it.

I noticed younger generation preferred Micheal. Older generation preferred Buble. Why compare, just different styles

Beautifully done...yet...George Michael's orginal version, music arrangements and vocally is still so memorable. His voice is sweeter than Buble's. Both amazing in concerts...and entertaining, in different ways but loved them both.

This song got me through a lot of heartbreaks. Godspeed, George. I wonder if you knew just how many people you would help heal. Buble's rendition is good, and his voice really is beautiful, but George's is really moving.

George Michael's voice inevitably carries some ,if not more of the pain that rolls the beat and flutes the sound of this truly beautiful piece beside his tremendous musical talent ! Michael Buble is a terrific jazz singer , a commanding talent in a moving performance.

George Michael's best song ..Buble does it justice as well ..I'd like to hear his version of cowboys and angels..

Very rarely do covers of original songs exceed them in quality. I can only think of a few off the top of my head...Phil Collins "You Can't Hurry Love" & Robert Palmer "Mercy, Mercy Me" are exceptional covers IMHO. This is a good cover but compared to George Michael's original version, GM's is excellent.
