I have one of those rubber thumbs. I used to do the handkerchief trick during class in school to flirt with girls. It's probably the best simple magic trick ever. With good hand motion, and a better looking one then Michael has, and a bit of practice, it's virtually flawless looking.

I'd believe it has to do with a few things: 1. Dwight believing this had to do with a "secret" so he could interpret the awkwardness as that, Michael not knowing how to react to the secret being let out. 2. Mixed signals of Michael not knowing how to handle the situation. Dwight being blinded by his trust in Michael, his hierarchical superior, since he's prone to be blindsided by authority, one of his core beliefs. 4. And of course, Dwight being all smoke and no substance…

Cant believe I just noticed it, but at 3:58 Michael's right hand thumb is a fake one. Its the one that you buy from magic shops to do little tricks. On top of that he is talking about staff he bought of a magic shop so that makes it even better.

I love how he just tries to sneak out of what he just disclosed after being completely defeated and blowing everything. Lmao! He's such a fantastic actor and one of the few that I'd ever actually care to meet.

Also when they sped up the clock on Friday to get out early and everyone started laughing and he asks what’s so funny , and they said you had to be there, and Michael said “oh a geography joke!”

Last time I was this early Jan and Ryan were still sane.

I've already seen the show 7 times. It's been fuckin years man but I love how little clips like this can pull you back in to the story and make you feel the way you felt when you first watched it

Most underrated part of this is when Michael sarcastically asks Kevin if he wears a wig

How did I miss this comedy in 2000s, I used to see it & for some reason never watched it...only to see it on Netflix. I've never binges anything like this 6 hours straight... What a show. Steve just blows this Michael character away...

So for anyone wondering. Earlier in the episode Dwight listed a number of ways to tell if someone is lying. One of which was avoiding eye contact. This is something Michael did while lying to Dwight in this clip.

Steves performance of Michael Scott is a Master Class in acting. The reason why i think Michael is such a great character and Steve is the perfect actor for it is that just when the show pushes Michael to the brink of the audience hating him, he will do some gesture of pure kindness, or an act of complete selflessness which will redeem him and it will remind the audience that Michael has a good heart and means incredibly well but that he just is completely and absolutely socially inept.

THIS! People who just rant about how "bad" Michael Scott is are, in my humble view, missing the point entirely! The humour comes from the fact that when he *tries* to be the good, popular, politically correct guy, he fails miserably. When he's not trying, he is capable of great kindness and generosity. "Well, if you like her so much, don't give up.... BFD. Engaged ain't married. Never, ever, ever give up."

I always love when they just glance at the camera 😂
