These, kids, are what we used to call "musicians". Singers who actually sing without autotune, and musicians who actually play their instruments, LIVE. You'd never know that these fine gentlemen have aged 30+ years....Morris, Jesse, Jerome and the boys have still got it.

Plus Roger's stylings on the talk box was done in his own fashion and not song exactly like everyone else who used something similar. You wouldn't really mistake roger for Frampton, unlike today where damn near everyone who uses auto sings the same notes over the same type of beats! Yell

@@KMOSE500 Roger was indeed a REAL musician. He was a great pianist and composer, but he did use synthesizer. The difference between somebody like Roger Troutman and the hiphoppers is that they have no musical training, so they have to “sample” or “create beats”, and the result is flat and soulless.

People just dont understand how GREAT this band is. You have arguably the greatest music producers of the past 50 years with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The second greatest Hype man ever with Jerome (Flava Flav is the 1st). And one of the all time great guitar players with Jesse Johnson. Jesse is up there with Hendrix, Van Halen, Hazel, SRV and Vai.

Jesse is an incredible guitar player. They are all extremely talented musicians. They had to be to hang with Prince. Morris is the ultimate front man/showman.

Not just The Time, but Gap Band, Dazz Band, The Minneapolis Sound, and the fantastic live bands that ruled the late 70s and early 80s. "Uptown Funk" is not an hommage as much as it's a blatant ripoff without public and copyright acknowledgement.

People just dont understand how GREAT this band is. You have arguably the greatest music producers of the past 50 years with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The second greatest Hype man ever with Jerome (Flava Flav is the 1st). And one of the all time great guitar players with Jesse Johnson. Jesse is up there with Hendrix, Van Halen, Hazel, SRV and Vai.

Jesse is an incredible guitar player. They are all extremely talented musicians. They had to be to hang with Prince. Morris is the ultimate front man/showman.
Continue the legacy guys we missed you much.... especially Our Prince 👑

I saw them along with Sheila E. doing a tribute to Prince in April 2019 and I promise they haven't lost a step. They looked, sounded and acted like they did 30yrs ago.

Not only did they use the Oberheim OB-8, Jimmy Jam was also using an ARP Omni 2.
aint seen this performance in many years. this was what......2007 or so.......i miss Baisden after Dark.

I'm a 57 year old man that in 84 thru 87 I absolutely got all the way down with Morris Day!!! God damn!!! We boogie boogie boogie and my God it was great!!! In Chicago so that means every soul brother who got down hard came though town. Why? Well this is were Chaka Kahn lived!!! Sheeeeeeet!!! Who didnt want to perform party and hangout with Chaka Kahn????

Not just The Time, but Gap Band, Dazz Band, The Minneapolis Sound, and the fantastic live bands that ruled the late 70s and early 80s. "Uptown Funk" is not an hommage as much as it's a blatant ripoff without public and copyright acknowledgement.

Kids, that is called a kickass band with a spectacular frontman.
I Attended one of their concerts in New Orleans and it was awesome. Morris still look the same and I would go to his concert anytime.
