    @Domini478 Grambling just last year got a recruit that was recruited by Alabama, LSU and Florida. just a few months, someone chose Southern over LSU. HBCUs get decent talent. Coaching is just what hurts them. You get decent coaching, you have schools like NCAT being top ten in the FCS consistently.

  • @thepac12andbig10suck

    @thepac12andbig10suck

    @Domini478 Well for one, HBCU's aren't in the FBS like those major D1 schools, so of course they aren't going to get the same talent. Neither are other schools in the FCS. But there is still decent talent nonetheless. Coaching is key. No way should a team in the same subdivision get beat 90-6 or 70-7 like UAPB and MVSU did. That's coaching. Xs and Os. Talent is still important, but HBCU's don't have the best coaches imo. They are always one good coach away from being pretty great.

  • @thepac12andbig10suck

    @thepac12andbig10suck

    5 жыл бұрын

    @Domini478 no you misguidedly took it as such. Obviously HBCUs overall don't have the talent Top FBS schools do. If you know the difference between the FBS and FCS you will understand. Both are division I but the FCS is the lower subdivison with HBCUs along with teams like NDSU, James Madison etc.. When i say talent, im talking relative to the FCS subdivision that the DI HBCUs play in. HBCU's from what ive seen have great talent on the FCS level, and the fact they can get a few players that SEC schools recruit shows they can get some good players. It's simply just coaching. Xs and Os. Nobody's is talking about them competing vs FBS teams. They barely can compete on the FCS level

  • @thepac12andbig10suck

    @thepac12andbig10suck

    5 жыл бұрын

    But how much of it is REALLY all talent? Those two are top FCS teams, but that doesn't excuse HBCUs getting beat the way they do all the time vs non-HBCUS in the FCS . This past season, Grambling lost to Northwestern State. UAPB lost 90-6 to South Dakota St. Jackson St and Alabama A&M both lost to a North Alabama team transitioning from D2. Alabama St lost to Kennessaw St, MVSU lost to North Dakota. Prairie View lost a good game to Sam Houston. Nobody in the SWAC defeated a non-HBCU FCS team. Switch over to the MEAC, NC A&T is the example i mean of a well coached HBCU team. THey beat #6 Jacksonville St. Meanwhile, Howard lost to Bryant, Morgan St lost to Towson and Albany, Delaware St lost to St Francis. Savannah St beat Charleston Southern. So that's only two 2 wins out of 13 games that HBCU's defeated non-HBCU FCS teams. this always happens. It's been that way for years now. HBCU coaches need to step it up

    It is realistic in basketball. Get a starting 5 that will stay 3 years. Some recruits behind them. Grad transfers. But football, you need too much. Gotta have players for the team to practice against. Facilities, coaching,

    Actually not. The Miami team FAMU beat, was no where near the squad that Howard eventually built. This was a team that was mediocre at best, and a couple of years away from turning the corner. FAMU was one of the best programs in 1-AA.

    Nope. This is when the full impact of integration had yet to happen, and HBCUs had most the talent that the ACC (which didn't go above Maryland back then), SEC and old Southwest Conference refused to touch due to racism. If anything, it's games like this that made the modern SEC, ACC and Big 12.
