Miami to Key West Drive in July 2022

Ойын-сауық

The entire drive from Miami to Key West in July 2022. The entire journey took just under 4 hours. I start off in Downtown Miami and end in the Old Town of Key West. This drive takes you through the entirety of the Florida Keys on the Overseas Highway. Along the way, I cross over 44 Islands and 42 Bridges. The islands border the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The most famous attraction on the Overseas Highway is the Seven Mile Bridge, which was considered one of the longest bridges when it was built.

There are still ways to travel. They have busses and stuff that are handicap accessible. Some of the drivers are very friendly as well and helpful. It would be difficult to travel, but you could certainly do it if you want. Don't let anything stop you from doing something you're passionate about. The world is getting better and they're starting to design things for minority groups of people as well as the majority. And that's important. But this is certainly the next best thing. Keep on trucking ma'am and I hope you enjoy life, whatever it is you decide. And thanks for sharing!

Now this is what I call content! Chill drive, uncut. You get to see how America looks like, which especially for me as a Scandinavian is truly Amazing. Everything is so much different from my country. I love these types of videos, thank you for sharing this drive with us all! You're an amazing guide as well! Also, I cannot believe how many gas stations there is in such a small distance between each of them. I lost count on how many I've seen during the drive. The amount of gas stations in this video is probably more than my whole country! That is insane!

@@TheJaminator128 Almost everything is different from my country. The buildings and houses are much different, and the roads and sidewalks are much spacious, traffic lights hanging over the road rather than simple poles like we have here. The parking spots are wide, shops and stores are so diverse and abundant. The trees and bushes have different shapes. Everything seems a lot bigger. Hey, even the sky looks different! America gives me this feeling of awe and coziness. I would be blown away walking around in America, seeing all of these beautiful things with my own eyes. People would think I'm a crazy tourist!

This brings back memories of 15 years ago when I was there with a friend. Our vacation started from London Heathrow. We landed in Miami and spent 6 hours at Miami Beach & the Art Deco District before then flying out to Lima Peru. We spend 2 weeks traveling around Peru before flying back to Miami, after being caught up in the 8.0 earthquake of 2007. When we got back to Miami from Lima we rented a Mustang GT & drove to Key West. The sun was starting to set about half way through the journey to Key West, & I remember the radio station we were listening to as we were driving down only seemed to play British music from the 60’s. Later we spent 4 days driving around Florida before flying back to London.

Why not do it in real life? Games can be fun, sure, but life is what it's all about. There will come a time in life when traveling isn't as easy as it once was. Maybe you get married, have some kids, a mortgage, car payments, utility and wifi bills, phone bills, college funds for your kids to fill up, work, school, whatever. Not only that, but one day you'll be older and not be able to get around like you can now. It's important to go places while you can. Go on a cruise, visit Miami, San Diego, New York City, Hawaii, DC, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, Alaska, whatever. You'll have a much better experience than you'd ever have in a video game, I promise you.

@@JoshuaTraffanstedt yeah I get that and I would really love to travel the world, however I’m a college student with a part-time job. I don’t want to enjoy my life right now because I rather set myself up for the future and do the things that I always wanted to do without the financial burden. I do enjoy playing video games and GTA is one of my favourite franchises so that’s why I’m pretty stoked to do this in the game.

The Miami to Key West route was first built as a railroad. When a hurricane damaged a bunch of the bridges(in 1930s I think), then the state or locals down there(I forget what it was) all decided to convert the railroad tracks into a road. Some of the old railroad bridges still exist to this day, and certain ones were converted into piers for local fisherman to use. Plus anyone who wants to walk on them leisurely. Over time in the mid 20th century, a bunch of portions of the Overseas Highway had replacement bridges built. Such as where Seven Mile Bridge is located. The original bridges between islands for this highway, used the original railroad bridges that were converted into being a road.

I'm a 5th. Generation Conch and we are an island of Dog lovers. Many of the business leave out water bowls for the Pups who are visiting our island with their families. If you make it down Again they have opened up Truman Waterfront park on the old Submarine base by Fort Zachary Taylor . The waterfront is all free lots of grass and even a nice new Dog park complete with obstacles for the pups to play on. A great quiet Place to watch sunset with your Pups. Mallory Square is fun but a bit noisy and crowded. They have a free water park for little kids at Truman Waterfront too. There are restrooms and water fountains for People and Pups but no food vendor's so bring a snack. My border Collies love their evening sunset walks there and the Puppy pals they meet on their walks. It's a great place with lots of room and shade if your furry family members are vacationing with you.

I took a bus from Miami to Key West to see a high school friend interviewing for a job on the island in 1979. Thankfully, I don't remember the trip being long. She lived on Marathon so the trip wasn't too long for her. It's great seeing this route decades later. My memories of Key West were seeing the sunset with a crowd of others, seeing a play on Green Street, seeing the world's biggest bug in a spider's web on the bench I was sitting, a Woody Allen film retrospective and the Conch Train full of tourists.

I grew up in the suburbs of Philly and we were maybe 10 minute walk from Baltimore Pike which is part of that whole Route 1 going all through Philadelphia , the suburbs , down to Kennett Square and the mushroom capital of the world haha and basically I-95 parallels it ... it was the original I-95 , basically . I didn't watch this but I scrolled all the way to the end and give it a thumbs up anyway . I usually do that for the channels I like even if I don't have time to watch their videos

The Gulf is on the right side and Atlantic ton the left going down to Key West. The remains of the Flager railway bridge to the lower keys, built in early 1900's should be seen on your left out in the water I think. A beautiful scenic drive.

Where he’s driving going towards the Keys, US1, @16:26 is South Miami area, border with Coral Gables area, (72nd Street = Sunset Drive), when making a left..you go towards Kendall area which is a great area to live because there you have great access to most known Malls and outlet where tourists (mainly from European and South American nations) do their shopping, and great access to to the airport and Miami Beach (which is great for tourists but to live can be a question mark by time..to noisy).

If you would've taken the left at the Key Largo toll sign, it would've taken you to Ocean Reef Club. Ultra wealthy class of individuals. That road right before you enter the Keys is called Card Sound Road. There's a bunch of salt water crocs on the right hand side on the other side of the road. Small fishing spot out there.
