This is my hood, I grew up here. Late 80s early 90s. At the age of 7, I used to walk to school by myself. My ol girl was on drugs so I had to grow up fast. I went to MLK, Holmes, Drew, Earlington Heights, Brownsville, Melrose, and Miami Northwestern. growing up here was fun but dangerous at the same time. My cousins and friends use to hustle on 15thave. I use to live with my grandmother who lived around the corner from Sugar Hill and the Brewtons store by Miracles. When I was a kid, I used to sneak out of the house and go to the jam where Uncle Al will play music all night. When I graduated high school, a lot of my childhood friends started getting killed. My grandmother was raising me and my three brothers. She was so stressed out. In Liberty City, it's do or die. This part of Miami ain't for the weak. The best thing to do is to mind your business. I've seen so many people get killed living here. If you pay attention, there's a lot of churches in Liberty City. Those churches are filled every weekend with funerals due to senseless violence. I moved from Miami in 20005. When my grandmother passed away, I just packed my stuff and left. When I come back to visit, I always go to see my old friends. Some of them still live in the city. It's kinda sad man, but I love Liberty City. In about 5-10 years, they will remove a large portion of Black folks from that area. They are shutting all public housing down. They knocked the beans down and Brownsub is next. Charlie please be safe, keep your head on a swivel. Liberty City is not a playground. You will get your issue if you slippin.

@@tele7703 When my grandmother died, I went into a deep depression. My grandmother was the only person who I felt loved me. I had family in GA who offered me a place to stay. If I would've stayed in Miami during that time in the 90s, I would've ended up killing someone, going to prison, or dead. My heart is still in Miami though. I visit often to see my cousins and old friends.
