Hello alzea arafat, yea just plug your drive in the mi box and your good to go, but whatever you do dont (set up as device storage) because that will format your drive .Hope this answers your question!

Hey KelleyT, thank you for sharing your awesome collection of games :) I have a question for you. RetroArch seems to support upto 5 devices, Can I hook up 4 bluetooth controllers to create a multi-player session with family members ? I tried with only 2 controllers it worked fine. For some of the games I can see only 1P, 2P options available when the game starts. Does it mean that I would not be able to see 3P, 4P options until I connect the 3rd or 4th device OR Do the games support only up to 2 players?

Retroarch will accept 4 controllers but the game you are playing has to be a 4 player game. Hope this helps!

Hi, I've been playing SNES and everything older that it on Retroarch in my Xiaomi Mi Box S with absolutely no issues, with the notable exception of Super Mario RPG (it has a REALLY hard time playing it, have you tried it). Did you also try PS1 and N64, for instance? Other thing: I've been using a pen with my roms, like you, but I'd like to store them in my LAN, for instance, to not go to the trouble of inserting it every time. Do you know if that's possible?

Hello Nuno and thanks for watching. I have not played Super Mario RPG on this device, ill have to give it a try. I did get PS1 working great but I only tried 2 or3 games. N64 did not work that great, if I remember correctly. That sounds like a great idea, I'm sure its doable.

Kelley Tech spent all night playing retro game, it was awesome, Aladdin nes the best, the game boy games don't run well , it's like they stutter or don't run, I think I need a different emulator for to run as the quick one isn't good, but the 2010 emulator runs Aladdin perfect, I've tried all the golf ones but I can't remember the one I use to play but it was better than the ones I've tried, afterburner doesn't work gutted, but donkey Kong was spot on and put a massive smile on my face, plenty more on there to try out, my build is different than one in video so some of the menu selections are different , but once again thank you as I didn't have a clue how to use retro arch and no other videos out there, so cheers

I read somewhere that Android tv 9 will support ps3 and ps4 controllers out of the box. Shield has gotten the update to android tv 9. Just waiting and hoping that the Mi box S will get the android update in the near future :)

Thank you, Quick question: I downloaded a MAME rom file that is zipped. When I unzip it, it has quite a big number of files inside. Do I unzip these rom zip files before I add them to my external device. I am not sure how the "scan directory" needs these rom files, zipped or unzipped. Thank you in advance

Kelley Tech bro I installed all the same procedure told by you and its work on my mi box. But one problem I am facing is that While playing any games on retro arc if I have to go back to main application of retroarc , then I have to restart my mi box again and after open any games available on retroarc arc. As there is no option or button in gamepad to go back to the main application. Ever time I have to restart my mi box to play new game in the retroarc. Tell us how we go back while we played a game in the retroarc. Thanks

Sounds like you got the hard part done. All you have to do is set your menu toggle gamepad combo, click here for directions 10:43 Hope this helps!

There are two versions of RetroArch on the play store. RetroArch and RetroArch Plus. In the making of this video, there was only one option just called RetroArch. What error are you getting on your mi box when you try to install RetroArch?

Good question! usually you can but this file is A 7 zip file. Not 100% positive but I don't think android will extract 7 zip files. Hope this helps!

@@anthonygacs Personally I like retro arch its easy to setup and runs great. EmuELEC is a great alternative it just seems like A pie 3 setup but I have to say the interface looks a lot better than retro ark. either way they both work great, hope this helps!

@@kelleytech Thank you for answering! In fact, the gamepad lags with everything. I tested with Steam Link and RetroArch, and also with a couple of standalone games, such as Crossy Road. I initially thought that it was because I was using a Bluetooth gamepad (Xbox One S Controller), so I bought a GameSir T4 Pro (with a USB 2.4GHz dongle). Guess what? It lags exactly the same as Bluetooth. It's not the controller itself, because it works pretty well on my Sony Android TV. I tested with both Mi Box and Mi Box S, but I didn't test with the Mi TV Stick. I think this should be a firmware issue because I can't imagine anything else. Maybe you simply didn't notice the lag, but if you record a video in slow-mo you'll definitely see what I'm talking about. This ruins the gameplay of some games, such as Super Mario World. And makes Steam Link unusable, since it by itself has some millis of input lag.

The box in the video is the older box but the mii box s is almost the same exact box. Hope this helps!

Use downloader, puffin tv, chrome, ect, to download aptoide tv. Once you have aptoide tv installed, open app and search for the apk you want and install. hope this helps! tv.aptoide.com/?lang=en

Download speed is slow but it's totally worth it. You most certainly can use 2 controllers and a USB storage device.

You should be able to run the rom in its zipped form. No need to unzip. Hope this helps!
