Nice video i like your explanation. The guard point that sharpens is the dual blade one , not long sword.

Thank you for your comment! You're right, sharpening goes for Duel Blades while it's more unaffected sharpness for the Longsword. Will correct that in the description!

Thanks for the video, I think your tutorial is much easier to follow ^.^ really need to know the monsters’ attack pattern to pull off the guard point, but the sheathe-attack is already a game changer. Thanks for sharing!

Note that valor dual blade also has a sick guardpoint ! The conditions to use it are the same (valor mode active, press R) and the timing is also roughly the same !

Yes it does! Not as many people play DB (despite it being my main in GU), but I should probably do a similar tutorial at some point. 🤣😅

But there is a surprising lack of specialized or "Advanced Tips" tutorials, like this one! I would love to see more videos like this that go over specific techniques!

It's awesome indeed. GU's combat mechanics really are in their own class. ❤️

It’s silly how busted valor LS. Blue spirit gauge that lasts almost as long as white spirit but has slightly more damage than yellow. A more damaging combo and spirit combo. And a god parry lol cool to see guides about it even to This day :)

GU is still a great game in many ways - many of us still go back to play when we need a break from Rise/Sunbreak. 😄

Do you think you could do one about the energy blade on charge blade? I always find it difficult to aim it

Yes, the one with a few Sakura flower patterns is the Mizutsune sword! Absolutely worth creating for monsters weak to water. 👍

only thing i would add to this video is that the best monster to practice on is glavenus bc he swing his tail alot then from there you can move to other monsters

the best and most effective guard point training monster for me (from my 4U CB days) were tigrex and diablos. they like to charge and have different moves with different and sometimes outright weird timings so absolutely perfect because of the diversity but i see the appeal of glavenus.

What an amazing video, however it isnt quite clear who made it, maybe try showing your name on the video a bit more?

Thank you for your question. Generally for such attacks I might choose to roll out of the way instead of guard point as the execution and recovery between 2 guard point counters do take a little bit of time in between. Same for some of the one shot attacks such as Boltreaver Astalos' laser beam of death. Hope this helps answer your concerns!

Can the guard point happen mid combo or does it need to be the first R animation?

That is a good question. Usually with combos, there is a risk of the animation still going and being locked into it, making your character unable to avoid or counter an attack. Therefore, ideally you'll want to hit the R button just as the monster is about to land the hit on you so you'll be able to counter on point, provided all the conditions for being able to use it are met. Hope this answers your question!

I do apologize, that was a mistake on my part as guard point only sharpens Dual Blades and not Long Sword.
