Only once It got hit (3:16), and It was probably because Astalos getting stuck on rock seemed unexpected :l Still wow, such perfect endurance..

finally get to see a prowler run in the west all the other time attacks ive found are japanese. also amazing run btw

Although they take some concentrated effort, I know that there are other prowler players out there that I'd love to see do this as well. Thank you. Time willing, I'll try this with some other EX-Deviants.

Really makes me hope prowler can return some day, so much fun. Heck now that I've hit the end of rise I been back to GU trying to master the prowler. So that if I end up needing to, I can solo all the deviants. Which I know is gunna be hard as heck. Already fought silver wind with friends and that was a nightmare as a normal hunter.

And people say Prowler sucks, this is amazing.

I just found this, not only this inspired me, but as a person who also plays Prowler..I’m happy to see Prowlers can still be op no matter what rank or fight ;w;

Switch Axe is surprisingly a pretty good matchup against Boltreaver. You're always at the mercy of his AI shenanigans though. If anything, that is the real test of patience.

I actually got around trying Boltreaver with SA a few times this morning. Don't think I lasted 5 minutes before carting even a single time. Not sure if this will go anywhere... >_>

Personally, I practiced on G1 Boltreaver for certain attacks such as the tailsplosion and lightsaber attacks until I got the timing for them down better. Although EX's has increased AOE's, with practice it starts to become second nature to react to them. (That and you don't have to worry about one shots) Eventually that not 5 minutes becomes 5 minutes and that 5 minutes becomes 10 minutes and so on.

Wow, I didn't know artful dodger gave insane frames, i knew about the beast backflip going from 2 frames to 6 with that skill, but dam the i frames are way larger with that skill than what I initially thought I might as well try that same set myself (aka just swapping the already set skills in my Gathering cat into those same ones) Im baffled by this, specifically Arful Dodger. Great job dude! Videos like this show the world the true potential of prowler, again Amazing job!

Man, I don't remember the player's name but a Prowler speedrunner downright humiliated me in the MHG discord after I debated that the Mega Boomerang is good I'm glad I saw a skillful Prowler player making use of it, first one I saw was a Bloodbath and that player said that it was a "casual run"

It definitely does some serious damage, especially if you're used to landing all the hits on weakpoints. The reverse is also true if you're just using it to hit monster parts without respect to hitzones. Weirdly enough, there's a lot of Prowlers online that don't bother with the skill.

does that person even know the motion value of mega boomerang it is 25 for cutting 22 for blunt hits up to 10 times and while its still winding up its a motion value of 8 that has the potential of 7 hits before you throw it. the thing has some insane damage potential. in optimal play its pretty necessary if you plan to beat any records like this one(tho this one has a faster guard prowler run also using mega rang). if that person considers themselves a speedrunner well i bet they dont beat any records(unless it was a record without mega rang if there is any)

The player might be named Dio, I bet he would know about the MVs but he is such a dick. All of my ranged prowlers run it and I have gotten used to the throwing of it, like when a monster gets toppled I aim for the ground right behind the head. It does some pretty good KO as well. I lost trust on that server after that, things like that are a common occurrence there.

I think its blatantly wrong to tell a person how to play the game unless someone was asking for help on the matter (ex someone makes a crit set and wants to know how it could be better etc) for someone to crap on you for using something especially in this case since mega boomerang is funny enough actually good, is so disrespectful. Trust me I know how it feels for to be craped on. I know this one streamer who said my cat was a meme since I'm using bomb cat for a boomerang build. It got me so upset for me to work so hard coming up with my build for someone who is full of themselves to call it a "meme"

Awesome run! Honestly I was scared of using G rank prowler just because of the fact it isn't scaled well, but knowing it can still get times like this has inspired me to pick up the ol cat again!

The third attack is an extension of the two-hit boomerang combo that Assist, Healing, and Gathering Prowlers have. It does very good damage up close as it's more intended for melee. You do have to be careful as it has some significant end lag.

I recommend changing the bow type controls as they tie in to how you aim your boomerang throws. I use Type 2 myself, but it's something that you adjust slowly over time. As for 180° throws, I hold my boomerang throw long enough to manually turn my Prowler in the opposite direction, then I center the camera.

Palico moves and skills? If you don't mind me asking as I have taken in playing as prowler.

Hey, I know that this comment is old but...how did you manage to get weakness exploit in the NA version? I've been playing prowler exclusively since generations and this fight is just awesome ! I didnt know artful dodger was so good

I-frame roll is really difficult. Even easiest one like glavenus i can't manage yet.

I'd say the best monster to work on natural (or Artful Dodger/Evasion +1) i-frame dodging would be Nargacuga. Most of its attacks are quick, and it can teach you far better than most with consistent practice.

I hope to get that good.

With the i-frames in said dodges. After fighting so many Boltreavers, it became second nature to me.

What are the supportand passive skill patterns on your cat? Is it BBBCC for both?

IIRC, it has BBBCC for skills and ABBC for moves.

my palico now is lvl 90 89 and 70 were able to finish high ukanlos =) i think that the start =)))) am using palico speed growth on kitchen ..thanks for this idea again =)

They have a slightly higher boomerang damage values, and every bit of damage (especially against EX-Deviants) goes a long way.

The third attack is an extension of the two hit boomerang combo that Assist, Healing, and Gathering Prowlers have. To use it, simply attempt to throw another boomerang after the second throw and instead you'll get the third part of the combo.

It would take me a few days at best before I could send it. The only move my Prowler has that can't be trained to get is Weakness Exploit; which you can get much faster from online players. You can also make a Reddit/GameFAQs post and I'm sure a kind soul can also send you said ability from there.

It honestly would be faster finding another Prowler player with WE, but if you don't have it by then, I can help. Although I did state a few days, I can't promise this as it'll be Thanksgiving week, and it gets busy around where I'm at this time of year.

KCGemini yeah, i wont be able to solo him for sure. especially with the status crap hes infamous for. hopefully burrowing will keep me from getting stomped on when he vanishes and tries to stomp you, this is going to be another rough thing about nightcloak. its easy to set up status immunity skills with a bit of luck but getting stomped on that hard by a deviant, not so easy... hopefully it wont be too ugly because im gonna attempt the G6 online (1st cart rage quitters need not apply lol)

At this point, you can open a random room with a title asking for it. Otherwise you can go to a site such as GameFAQs and make a topic asking someone for it. Lastly, Discord tends to be pretty active, so someone will more than likely give you a Prowler that has it on there.

May i know where can i get range attack up easily.

A friend gave me a Palico with the skill. The best way to get it is to join random Prowler rooms and ask for it, or you can get on the MHGU Discord and find someone there who is willing to share.

@@thundertron. You can check what type of Palico/Prowler you have by going to the status menu. The bias is what you're looking for.

They do! Prowlers share the same amount of i-frames that hunters get. Artful Dodger is the same as having Evasion +1. Bomb cats have better i-frames without the skill, thanks to them having the equivalent of adept dodge. Lastly, Soothing Roll/Emergency Escape both have a ton of i-frames when those skills are used, although they both take one meter.

I can't, but outside of WE, there are no skills that are unique to this Prowler outside the Palico Dojo. Someone on the MHGU Discord channel or in an online lobby can most likely give you a Prowler with said skill.

Well, I can think of a few reasons: a) MHGU has a very large roster and high rank/G rank introduces enough changes to said roster to keep players playing for a long time. b) Not everyone has a current console or wants one. For example, I have two friends that are fairly active in this game that have no urge to get a PS4. c) MHW's smaller roster decreases its longevity, IMO. Iceborne should definitely help in that regard. In my case, I stopped playing World to go back to GU. Once Iceborne releases, I'll be back on it. On another note, even 4U is somewhat active considering it's 4 years older than MHW; which shows how much staying power Monster Hunter titles have.

@@hcrdfju4954 I think GU holds that title for me, Valstrax is just so damn cool, with Bloodbath trailing behind it. MH Stories is up there, but they are somewhat short at times. Some MHW ones I love are the Arch Tempered Kulve Taroth - Stage 4, Shara Ishvalda - Released, and also the Lunastra theme. "Driven by the Stars" is another good one for me. New ones in MH3/U that I liked were Dire Miralis, Ceadeus and Brachydios.

Considering the fastest time is by a Protection Prowler that is clocked at 11'39, that is *highly* unlikely. Even with Adrenaline, about a minute could be reasonably saved. Prowlers would need a significant power boost to shave another 5 minutes off.
