@@syntetiskavfall8485 thats the thing like, bsd manga is so character driven and complex - the characters have sm depth, while in the anime it feels like that depth the characters have is just gone. anime onlys won't be able to characterize properly, and even for manga readers its still hard because the characters feel so human. in other animangas ive read/watched i can characterize them because the stories are mostly always only driven by plot or by one specific character (mc) but bsd is just.. honestly its chaotic LMFAO ☠️

​@@osechii exactly, the light novels and manga are so complex, each detail matters and contributate to the complexity of each character. bones has taken out a lot of detail that messes with charcaterization. in the manga, dazai got surprised a lot (when he saw kunikida and chuuya smashed the wall behind him when he was in the pm dungeon) but in the anime they removed his surprised expressions. removing important stuff like tachihara's inner turmoil, the laugh in the dungeon, bits of sigma's entrance/backstory; this stuff they're removing is important to the complexity of the characters and understanding the characters, getting rid of this stuff makes the characters more hollow.

It was pretty good for not having ever watched bsd, except for one thing. Dazai has always been the biggest supporter of Chuuya's humanity. He wouldn’t call Chuuya inhuman or laugh at his pain.

From what I’ve seen I assumed he was like that since he did make the sheep betray Chuuya leaving him no choice but to join the Port Mafia. I assumed he was just a manipulative bastard. 😭

this is actually pretty good for someone who’s never seen bsd. you even put in how chuuya doesn’t know what he looks like in corruption, which is very true. he doesn’t.

It's super canon, but one thing you got wrong is that Dazai genuinely sees Chuuya as human, that's what he says in the book anyways, they never even mention it in the anime

For never having watched BSD both Chuuya’s and Dazai’s reactions were spot on! Great job w the series, it was great!!

I WAS ABOUT TO SAY “where’s soukoku😭” BUT THEN I SAW THE “never seen bsd” HONESTLY I LIKED THIS, ITS WELL MADE FOR SOMEONE WHO’S NEVER WATCH BSD

Hii just wanted to clarify some things. First of all, this isnt supposed to be hate or anything else. Sorry if i talk a bit rude but i dont mean to be rude, really. The video was amazing for someone that havent watched bsd yet the reactions were mostly cannon and i love the character designs !! İ just wanted to point out some mistakes if you dont mind. 1. İ dont think Dazai would smile while seeing Chuuya suffer, especially the not human part. Dazai is the person who believes Chuuya is the human most and is willing to do anything to prove it to Chuuya. When Verlaine (Chuuya's honorary brother) said "You actually believe that Chuuya is a human ?" Dazai replied with "Of course ! There is no way i could hate a hanmade string of codes that much." İn stormbringer Dazai didnt wanted Chuuya to use corruption even if there was a high chance of them both dying because if he did then all the evidence of Chuuya being a human would be gone. But Chuuya used corruption anyway not believing he is a human. 2. İdk if you know this or not but since you didnt add it in the video i'll say it anyway. Chuuya is a human. Verlaine told him that he is a clone not a human but it was all a lie. the clone died in Chuuya's arms, Chuuya thought it was the original him, the real human version of him. İt was mentioned in the end of stormbringer that Chuuya is a human, since he has a scar which he had from a fight with a kid in his village (when he was like 4-5 years old. He wasnt taken by the lab yet). The clone doesnt has that scar so it means the real Chuuya is our Chuuya while the clone is dead. 3. For the last part, i'm not sure if it could be called a experiment. When the clone died in Chuuya's arms it melted into a poisinous (idk how to spell :'D) liquid and it poisened Chuuya. Then the scientist called "N" (He experimented Chuuya when he was young) came and injected him a drug which made Chuuya see hallucinations of Dazai and The sheep (The Sheep is the oeganization that he used to be in before he joined the mafia. The one that betrayed him but Chuuya still loves them more than anything, sees them as his family and would gladly die for them.). N chained Chuuya up then tortured him with electric shocks and hallucinations. He tortured because he was scared of Verlaine. N forced Chuuya to activate corruption and kill Verlaine but Chuuya didn't and actually went crazy because of the hallucination. Chuuya started to scream and yell at the hallucinations so N did another electric shock which caused Chuuya to faint and see another hallucination of himself without an ability, no mafia, he was walking with the sheep, he wasnt the leader just a normal member. 4. Chuuya seems to be handling everything well here but i don't think he would handle it very well in cannon. He cried and imagined the voices of The Flags (His friend who Verlaine killed), when Mori mentioned The Flags Yep i know i talked a lot but i just cannot stop when it's about Chuuya :'D i'm willing to tell you more about him whenever you want ! İ didn't finish stormbringer yet, only half of it. But i get information from people who finished reading it. İf you have more questions feel free to ask. İ will try to answer if i can Btw keep up the great work ! Even some people who already watched the anime + read the manga cant get the reactions this cannon. İ love the video :) you really are amazing. Please dont get sad because of my comment in didn't mean anything bad really :''D

Btw answering some questions if you are confused Question: İf Chuuya is human why cant he see dreams ? Answer: İt's because of Arahabaki inside him. İt's mentioned in stormbringer that if he sleeps while he is in touch with Dazai, he can see dreams. But i think he can see nightmares without Dazai's touch, just don't remember. Because in the beginning of Chuuya woke up with a weird, violent feeling on his chest. He is sweating a lot but he doesnt know why. He feels that something happened to him but he doesnt remember anything that happened at night. He also said that this is the case every morning. So he might be seeing nightmares just not remembering Question: İf Chuuya is human why cant he remember his past ? Answer: İt's also because of Arahabaki. He lost his memory after he merged with Arahabaki (when he was 7 years old). However, it seems that Dazai cannot undo it. But it's mentioned in stormbringer that before the lab took him in (younger than 5 years old) he was living in a village with his mother and father. His father was in military due to The Great War happening at that time. Feel free to ask more :) !!

@@Kochiznumberonefan (SPOILERS SINCE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN OR READ BUT) the sheep was using chuuya for his ablity, manipulating him, didn't treat him like a person, obviously didn't trust him also (because they so easily betrayed him like that), it's more clear in the 15 LN and 15 manga but the sheep were not chuuya's friends. besides, while dazai was mostly at fault, mori was the one that issued the order (to dazai) to get chuuya in the mafia, it's not like 15 year old dazai had the power to ignore an order from the boss. besides, dazai leaving the mafia had nothing to do with chuuya, he was leaving an abusive enviornment and fulfiling a dead friend's death wish, i feel like chuuya wouldn't be mad at him for that but rather disappointed that he left without telling him he was leaving. Besides, if Dazai did not leave the mafia he would eventually die (in the alternative universe, Beast, this is seen). Dazai is objectively a bad person and manipulative, but there is a lot of context to the situation and it feels wrong to ignore it.

0:20 i don't really like when people use this audio for them 💀i mean dazai is an asshole but i don't think he would ever dehumanize chuuya, dead apple and stormbringer proves this ("i am human too" scene after chuuya punches dazai for being ignorant about the death of an executive in dead apple and the part in stormbringer where he says that he's certain Chuuya is human and that: "There is no way a man-made code could create such a personality that I detest so much."). chuuya dehumanize dazai? unfortunately yes, he projects his "lack of humanity" onto dazai, as seen in dead apple. Overall though, this was a good video, pm dazai a was a dick and would act like this, he was also very desensitized to a lot of stuff and wouldn't be phased. for someone who has not seen/read bsd this was not bad.

The reaction is extremely well made although Dazai is a bit OOC. He was indeed a manipulative bastard when he first met him but over the course of their parternship, he really came to care for Chuuya. You can see so in his various small gesture. Collecting Chuuya's hat because he knows it's important to him, gently cupping Chuuya's cheek to stop corruption, him thinking over all their memories together that he still vividly remembers (and a whole lot of other gay shit that Dazai and Chuuya pull) but the point is, He is the greatest supporter of Chuuya's humanity and also would not laugh or be apathetic towards Chuuya's pain because he himself has caused some of it and sports guilt himself.

WDYM YOU"VE NEVER SEEN BSD??????? honestly a million times better than anything I could do- awesome video and awesome series ♥♥♥

I feel Chuuya’s and Dazai’s trauma are both very complex and very traumatic. The only reason Chuuya’s part was shorter because all the edits keep repeating the same things and I didn’t have a lot of time to work on this.

This is good for not watching it, but Dazai definitely wouldn’t call Chuuya inhuman nor laugh at his pain. But if you’re doing Chuuya angst I recommend explaining everything that happens in more detail, there is a shit ton that happens and it doesn’t fully sink in in 7 minutes. Although as another creator, I completely understand the struggle of not having the motivation to make longer videos. The video was enjoyable. 🥰🫶
