same, even just the first few seconds if minutes of the first episode giving us a quick story of a Tofu Delivery boy who went that that to whatever he became in the future (a Rally Racing Champion people are saying?) we then cut to the school with the teacher telling this story to his students and we see the Main Protagonist... who i want to believe is a Grandson of the family? (i will admit when im wrong about this... but from the trailer 2 video, the similarities are there... tho then again many animes have there characters look almost identical in some way with even only just a hair change in style and color along with the eyes XD) we also see that while Night Racing down the mountains is possibly against the law (then agian i think it was even in the original show but... secluded mountain so... idk) they turned it into a proper racing course... maybe even a form of Racing School, only instead of going down the mountain, its going up with it because the cars they are using are more powerful then most of the cars in Initial D... and people are saying how this Toyota GR86 isn't in the same league as the Aventador, Ferarri, Porchas, Ford and a few others... wasn't the AE86 also out of its league in its show?... i mean there was a few cars who i say would be on par with the cars possibly in this new show from Initial D and yet Takumi was able to beat them in his AE86, and plus he even gets his car a new engine which makes it a MONSTER
